I went to Jimmy’s World Bar and Grill in Peterborough on Sunday afternoon at 5pm. I was surprised by how big it was and it seemed pretty empty when we arrived, as we were shown to our table I realised it was actually even bigger and there were customers sat further inside. Our waiter was friendly and gave us the low down on how the meal worked. There certainly was a lot to choose from! There are several food stations that serve Indian, Chinese, Thai, Mexican and Italian dishes, all of which looked fresh and smelled delicious. You can request certain items to be cooked freshly in front of you, in particular Thai noodles and a range of Indian breads.
Our waiter informed us that you don’t pay for children under 5 years which I thought was a great touch, and you can return to the buffet as many times as you like, this seemed sensible as there was so many different types of food to choose from. The buffet style was great, especially with hungry children in tow.
The food was very nice, full of flavour and well presented. The live stations were great, it was nice to watch the food being prepared. In particular, we enjoyed the Indian dishes, especially the freshly prepared and cooked naan breads, which were delicious.
There is also a desert station with a huge amount to choose from, including several flavours of ice cream with numerous chocolate toppings. The deserts were a real hit with the children who were encouraged to go back for more.
The restaurant had a very family friendly feel to it and I felt comfortable being there with 2 children under 5, we were all made to feel welcome and the good service continued throughout. I wouldn’t necessarily go there for an evening without children but would certainly recommend it for families.
