I was over the moon to be picked for this review, as was my 5 year old daughter, we are going to Spain next month (not that she knows!) and this back pack is quite possibly the cutest little travel accessory that I have ever seen in my life.
We have been trying the backpack out for size, my little one has been filling it with toys, craft items and colouring books and wearing her new favourite bag around the house. I have shown anyone that walks through my front door just how flaming cute it is, from the gorgeous ‘pink lemonade’ colouring – also available in white, blue sky and green aurora, to the adorable crew tag, the sweetest epaulettes on the shoulders (these are removable should you wish to) to the closing ‘seatbelt’ clasp, everything on this miniature backpack is so well styled and thought out. It is honestly a work of art – if a backpack can be?
It is a little on the small side but it is aimed at small humans, so I think for the age range it’s a decent size, but check the measurements if you are wanting something on the bigger side for your small person.
The back pack itself came stuffed with paper to maintain its shape, easily recyclable which is good to see. There is a small card label attached with a ribbon with the product information, name, colour, bar code etc.
When you pick the bag up you realise what good quality it is, it’s a lovely material, it is only wipe clean and spot clean only so hopefully it is fairly stain resistant as the fabric is also water repellant. There is branding around the bag a Stokke wing on the front flap, a small plane on each side Jetkids by Stokke on the bottom front and a cute little free upgrade message when you expand the bag.
The bag clasp is a plane seatbelt on a miniature scale and wonderfully cute – complete with lift written on it, upon opening this there is a drawstring to keep the bag secure and the contents safely inside. Inside the bag is a little organiser with a couple of pouches one that you can easily store some drawings or a tablet in and one smaller one. There is also a pull out seat pad so that when you stop and your little one wants to sit down they can without fear of a dirty bum!
On the outside of the bag is a small front pocket, a small side pocket for a bottle, a small side pocket on the opposite side also. There is a ‘crew label’ hanging on the side of the bag, inside here is room for name and phone number so that if lost hopefully the bag will find it’s way home.
The bag also extends with a single zip round the middle and creates a lot more room, once open an extra little loop is exposed on the side, perfect for keeping a bottle secure in the side pocket. The straps on the bag are extremely comfortable and have been designed with small people in mind. They go nice and small but also extend large enough that should I have to carry the bag at any point it also fits me, I want to play pilot too!
The straps are easily adjustable and also have a chest strap so the bag is comfortable to wear and doesn’t slip off of little shoulders.
On the bottom of the bag is a zip all the way round so that you can open it and empty it, it can then be stored flat to make things easier, we all know there is nothing worse than storing mounds of bulky bags!
I cannot wait for my daughter to wear this through the airport and on the plane, she is going to be so happy to have the best backpack on the plane! If you know anyone that is going on holiday soon this will make a wonderful gift or if you are taking your little ones away, I’m sure they will love it too.
It is on the pricier side for a backpack for children, however Stokke are known for fantastic quality and brilliant design and this bag gives both of these, if you are looking for an amazing bag for years of adventures you won’t go far wrong here.
You can buy this item from the Stokke website here.
