Jason Donovan, an Australian actor and singer, first came to the notice of British audiences when he appeared as Scott Robinson, in the soap opera, Neighbours. In 1988, he had his first number one hit with ‘Especially For You’, a duet he performed with his co-star, Kylie Minogue. The following Christmas, he joined Band Aid for the performance of ‘Do They Know It’s Christmas?’
Jason Donovan has sold over 3 million records, and in 1990 he embarked on a hugely successful world tour called ‘Doin’ Fine 90’. This concert is part of the much anticipated follow-up tour ‘Doin’ Fine 25’ which Jason hopes will invoke some of the memories from the previous tour.
The concert will include many highlights from his successful career, including his biggest pop hits, such as ‘Especially For You’, ‘Too Many Broken Hearts’ and ‘Sealed with a Kiss’ alongside songs he has made his own from the many musicals in which he has appeared.
We first saw him in the role of Joseph, in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s production of ‘Joseph and the Amazing Techni-coloured Dreamcoat’ at the London Palladium back in 1991, the role gave him a number 1 hit, with the song ‘Any Dream Will Do’, which will also feature in the concert.
We are very excited about this concert at Lighthouse, and suggest that you apply for tickets as soon as possible, as there is now limited availability. Lighthouse is one of our favourite venues – it has a café and bar for pre-theatre dining and drinks, and parking is available nearby.
Jason Donovan – Doin’ Fine 25 is at the Lighthouse in Poole on Friday 21 February 2025. For more information and to book tickets visit, www.lighthousepoole.co.uk.
