Itsyourstory Personalised Christmas Books Review

Reviewed by Katie Allen

When I was six, I received a personalised Snow White book for Christmas and I loved it. I couldn’t work out how my name appeared inside a real book and I treasured it – in fact I still have it almost 40 years later!

My niece and nephew live in Canada so it’s always tricky to find Christmas presents for them that are easy to post but also special.

These books from Itsyourstory.com are just the ticket.

I logged onto the website and chose “personalised books” and then filtered by “Christmas”.  There were 4 options with a Christmas theme but countless others available that would equally make good festive (or birthday) presents.

I chose the “Where’s Name of the Child (Premium)” book which not only included the child’s name but you can also add two photos (one of the child and one of the sender). You can see each page of the book on the website so can know exactly how it’s going to look. It was really easy to upload the photos and confirm the personalisation and before I knew it two books were in my basket ready to check out. My favourite type of Christmas shopping – no hassle!

Once I’d placed my order, I was impressed by how quickly the books arrived. They were with me within 2 days and packaged beautifully. The quality is outstanding. The books are hardback (a softback version is also available), A4 size and the personalisation extends to the front and back covers which is a nice touch. The 32 pages are lovely and thick, and the colours are bright. The first page shows the photo that I uploaded of our family and my personalised message to my recipient – this, hopefully, makes the book a lovely gift to keep for years to come. The story is a simple one which follows the child around their house and garden on Christmas Day. My 5-year-old niece will easily be able to read the story and my 1-year-old nephew will enjoy spotting all the colourful Christmas items and animals on every page. Their names appear ten times in total and their “cut-out” faces added to a figure dressed in pyjamas on nine occasions. They even managed to include one of my niece’s plaits. It’s really funny to see their head on a cartoon body and I’m sure they’ll enjoy seeing themselves and exploring the story with them in it. The illustrations are beautiful. They have a kind of collage feel which is in keeping with the “cut-out” photos and there’s lots to see on every page.

I will definitely think of the Itsyourstory.com website for future gifts for my family. Not only do they do books but also water bottles, mugs, notebooks and clothing. I also noted they have a Thank You Teacher section along with Father’s Day, Mother’s Day and Valentine’s Day which will be useful when stuck for presents for these events. All items can be personalised, and most can also have a photo added.
