When I realised I was going to see a comedy I’ll be honest I was a bit scared, I am one of those people that never get jokes and always try and answer jokes with a sensible retort. But I shouldn’t have worried as He Had Hairy Hands was the single most funniest thing I have ever seen. Even my friend was shocked by how much I laughed.

He Had Hairy Hands is the second production from the incredible theatre troupe Kill the Beast (Lowry Associate Artists). The production itself is an original show and it is certainly that. The troupe is made up of 4 cast members who play an array of characters, from the flamboyant and oh so glamorous Whitechapel to the nervous and eerie detective Andrew and let’s not forget about the werewolves. Oh yeah did I mention the show centres around the supernatural? Imagine Buffy crossed with The League of Gentleman and voila you get the picture. Set in 1974 in the sleepy town of Hemlock-Under-Lye.

The production is rude, grotesque, immoral, eccentric, and downright amazing, filled with songs, dancing, exercising and the best dressed wolf ever.

I would recommend this show to anyone that wants a laugh. I’d had an awful day and this turned my mood around. I can’t wait for their next production in the meantime go and see this and you will be howling for more!!

A spine tingling 5/5.
