Gtech Hylite Cordless Vacuum Review

Reviewed by Charlotte Gatehouse

I was completely thrilled to receive the Gtech Hylite cordless vacuum to review.  It arrived in a box only slightly bigger than a shoe box, already I was impressed with how light and compact the Hylite is to fit in such efficient packaging.

Inside the box was the vacuum head including the battery, an extendable handle, a charger, 3 replacement bags and a hair removal tool.
It was beyond easy to put together, it was as easy as clicking in the handle and it was ready to go. I plugged in the charger and waited impatiently for the green light to stop flashing to indicate the battery was full and it was ready to go, a full charge takes approximately 2 hours. The indicator shows when it needs charging by turning from green to orange.

The Hylite is wonderfully light and easy to manuveure it performed well and picked up all visible signs of dirt and crumbs, I used it on the carpet, the thick pile rug and the kitchen flooring and it did not disappoint.
I love the versatility of the handle which can be collapsed right down but also the main unit can be used without the handle attached at all and be operated hand held, brilliant for the stairs.

The light weight vacuum was easy to carry up the stairs. The battery lasts for approximately 20 minutes depending on the flooring, this is more than enough for a quick run round for your average sized house. After all who really wants to spend more than 20 minutes a day vacuuming-not me!
Perfect for picking up the crumbs around the table, a much quicker and easier task than wrestling with our corded upright.

Any concerns about the difficulty of changing the bag were soon put to rest, it really couldn’t be simpler, just lifting off the lid, unhooking the bag and replacing with another before clicking the lid back into place.

The brush bar can also be removed easily for cleaning, the build up of hair is often a irritation of mine, luckily also included is a hair removal tool which easily cuts the hair away, genius Gtech appear to have thought of everything!

There are loads of things I love about the Gtech Hylite, number one being how easy it is to store, small enough to tuck away in any cupboard or if you are lacking in storage space like I am, just un-click the handle and pop it in drawer, just brilliant!

This cordless vacuum has been a real game changer for me in terms of ease and time saving and would be a benefit to any household, particularly those lacking in space or for people who are unable to lift heavy objects. The design is fool-proof and would be well received by anyone who struggles operating electronics.

The Hylite retails at £129.99, which is a bargain as far as I’m concerned and comparably cheaper than its big name competitors on the market. Replacement bags can be purchased from the Gtech site for £12.99 for 15.
