All of our four grandchildren love animals, so much so we have family farm membership! I knew instantly that our granddaughter, who is age five years would absolutely love the Funtasy Family Chick-A-Boo.
This product is for age three years and above, and most importantly you need three AA batteries to get her started! We think the Chick-A-Boo would entertain children from age three years until probably around ten years. Certainly it wasn’t just our granddaughter who loved it, the two boys age four years were equally charmed, so much so it had to stay at Nanny’s house so everyone could play with it. That’s when you know a toy is great, they all want it! Maybe Santa will bring a couple more for Christmas, we will wait and see.
It really is the cutest fun Hen you could meet. Once you have inserted the batteries the fun begins. Possibly her favourite thing was the fact it lays eggs, I mean who wouldn’t be amused by a fluffy blue and pink Hen waddling along laying eggs, she was both delighted and fascinated. She lays eggs after you feed her and there are two little chicks inside the eggs, she was in her element thinking she was feeding her chicken on her farm and producing eggs.
It really is a complete ball of fun, it sings and dances, well the chicken dance. There is a wide range of sounds and reactions, you can even tickle her. It really is lovely to see children using their imagination with toys like this. They create their own magical worlds with interactive toys and it brings things to life for them. Albeit make believe it’s something that most children will be delighted to play with, it’s certainly a great addition to our toy box. Even grandad was persuaded to feed her so she would lay some eggs. I am sure when the children went to school their teachers were slightly disbelieving that they had chickens at home!
It’s most definitely been a hit. It’s well made and brightly coloured with the most adorable eyes, honestly I wasn’t playing with it when the little people went home. It’s always a win in my eyes when children are playing with something that does not involve a screen. Imaginative play stimulates their little minds; it’s heart-warming to watch them play with the Chick-A-Boo. They chat away as if it really was a live chicken. She certainly will bring hours of fun to our youngest grandchildren and was most definitely a hit.
Me thinks we will however need a bulk order of batteries, maybe the makers could think about installing a recharging link! This is the first in the range, I certainly think our grandchildren will eagerly await any additions to the range. Meanwhile they have written their letters to Santa requesting a chicken for their own house! Hopefully Santa will read it!!
