When I received the parcel from Fiona Cairns, I knew that the products inside would be luxurious. They arrived beautifully packaged with the company emblem printed on the box and inside lay emblemed tissue paper to protect the goods. Fiona Cairns has been producing luxury cakes for over 25 years and have recently branched into the beauty business with the Rose Gourmand range.
I was lucky enough to receive five amazing products to review, each product is rose scented and arrives beautifully packaged, elegant and simplistic.
- Fiona Cairns Rose Bath Oil
- Fiona Cairns Rose Body Butter
- Fiona Cairns Rose Body Scrub
- Fiona Cairns Rose Body Wash
- Fiona Cairns Hand and Body Lotion
I chose the bath oil which arrives boxed and in a 100ml bottle. The rose scent is strong so you do not need to use a lot in the bath. The blend of almond oil, vitamin E and aloe vera add something a little special to the sanctuary of the bathtub, and be gentle when you dry of, let the oil sink into your skin for a really soft, moisturised feeling! The oil has a retail price of £12 and as with all the range is available from https://www.fionacairns.com/product-category/gifting/bathing-range/.
After a wonderfully relaxing bath, I was lucky enough to have the ranges body butter to trial. Again. it arrived in a pretty box and comes in a 300ml tub, the product is highly scented with the English floral rose and uses coconut oil and shea butter to enrich the skin. It is thick, creamy and absorbs easily. My skin is used to body butters so is not dry, but the product just applies so well and does not leave the skin feeling greasy at all. At £7.50 this body butter is really good value for money!
Next, my daily shower gave me the opportunity to use two new products, a body scrub (300ml) and a 250ml bottle of body wash. The scrub is a mixture of sugar and salt and nourishing almond oil, and as ever the rose scent is strong. The scrub gave a gentle exfoliation, leaving my skin feeling softer and smoother after application. It is extremely easy to apply, and I used circular massage movements to ensure the drier areas (knees and elbows) had extra attention. These both felt softer after the shower. The scrub retails at £10 and is a welcome weekly treat in the shower, especially now spring is finally on its way and more skin will be on display. I actually used the bodywash prior to the scrub to leave the almond oil in the scrub to absorb into my skin. The body wash is like a gel rather than a cream but is thick and has a strong floral scent therefore product use can be sparse. I found that it lathered well with my shower puff and a small amount of warm water. It washed away easily and left my skin feeling fresh and clean. The body wash retails at £7, putting it above the average body wash.
Finally, the final product that I received was the hand and body lotion, in my home we use a lot of hand cream and always have one in the downstairs bathroom for guests to use too. I left the 250ml bottle in the bathroom and waited for feedback. The scent was a bit over-powering for my two children or my partner, they didn’t appreciate the rose scent – I do have to confess I am actually a lavender fiend and so maybe my children have been influenced there. However, a friend popped over and they loved the product, it is really easily absorbed and light. The hand and body lotion retails at £7.50 and again is a little touch of heaven for rose scent fans!
With Mothers’ Day fast approaching, if you are stuck at the idea of a gift, why not try a lovely gift bundle from Fiona Cairns and let her experience a taste of luxury and give her skin a new lease of life!
All in all, the range has been lovingly created and packaged beautifully. One piece of advice I would give is if you don’t like the rose scent or are really scent sensitive this is not the range for you. Only a small amount of each of the products leaves you smelling floral for quite some time.
