Essentiel Vie Tranquility Intense Skin Treatment Candle Review

Essentiel Vie are a company that offer products based on Mums-to-be, Mums and babies. 

As an aromatherapist and lover of candles, diffusers, room sprays etc, I was delighted to receive this and see how it compared with XXXX (editor’s note – brand name removed).  I have to say at this point, Essentiel Vie is far superior in quality, aroma and decadence. (editor’s note – this is the reviewer’s opinion)

I could not wait to use it, so, lit the candle, ran myself a bath, with essential oils of course, got in, laid back and relaxed.  This allowed the candle to burn slowly, taking in the aroma smells and allowing it to melt enough to use after my bath.  This was really and absolutely sheer and pure indulgence.

Once I was out of the bath and towel dried, I was keen and eager to apply the melted wax.  I blew out the wick, waited for that to settle down and then the candle was ready to pour.

With a cute pouring spout on the edge of the tin.  After a couple of minutes to allow the wax to slightly cool down, I gently and slowly poured the wax.  Playing on the side of caution to make sure it was not too hot, I poured a very tiny amount, this was ok and I rubbed it into both my hands, OH WOW!  It was like pouring silk into my hand.  I then held my hands to my face, slowly, gently and calmly, I inhaled the gorgeous aromas of essential oils.  I was in heaven!

I started to rub the oil over my skin from head to toe, a really small amount does go a long way and what was left on my hands, I applied it to my face, avoiding my eyes to make sure none of it went into them.  I actually felt like I was in a spa.

I read on the back of the candle tin that it was a 4 in 1 candle that works as the following:-

1.                 Body lotion

2.                 Massage oil

3.                 Body balm

4.                 Can be used on cuticles

5.                 Smoothing down frizzy hair

As you can see, it is not just a 4 in 1 candle, it has other uses and this I love.  I let the oil sink into my skin by wearing a lightweight dressing gown, popped my spa slippers on and decided to lay down in my newly decorated bedroom.  Closed my eyes and listened to some self meditation music and sounds.  Forty minutes later I stared after feeling what felt like I had been hypnotised.   

The oil was sheer silk and did not leave any sticky or gloppy residue, in fact, no residue at all.  That could also be down to the fact that I was mindful of not using and wasting too much.

I have to say, that night, I slept like a baby and woke up feeling so relaxed and at peace and still smell the oils.  My skin felt silky smooth and soft to touch.

As a holistic therapist, this is a candle I would most definitely use on my clients and really can not wait to purchase the other ranges of candles that Essentiel Vie have to offer.  No more XXXX (editor’s note – brand name removed) for me and that is a fact!

INSTRUCTIONS ON LIGHTING AND USING THE CANDLE FOR TREATMENTS

Light the candle and allow the wax to melt into a small pool of oil.  Blow the wick to eliminate the flame and then allow the oil to cool for approximately 1-2 minutes and then use accordingly.  That is it, that simple.

NOTES WORTH NOTING

As lovely as this candle is, sadly, it is not suitable for anyone that has a nut allergy

If you are breastfeeding, be sure to check before you buy if this and any other essential oil based product is suitable for you to use.  Never use anything that is essential oil based when pregnant without checking first.

OVERALL RATING

Rating: Certainly a 5 out of 5 from me.  I have to say, I really do hope to see more products, including a full facial routine.
