We all love to cook in our family, so I was very happy to find out I would be receiving a product from USA designed SAVEUR Selects cookware range to test out. Not knowing what I would receive, but knowing that SAVEUR promise a premium product, I waited excitedly for a knock by the postman and the expected parcel. Soon enough a parcel arrived containing a boxed set of 2 fry pans from the Voyage Series. The box was classily branded in black, white & red showing an illustration of the two pans. It was also packed full of additional information such as the size of the pans, construction and washing instructions so definitely worth a good read before opening.

The first thing that struck me when opening the box, aside from how well packed it was, was the weight of the pans, they felt extremely good quality, the other was the simple yet striking design. The Voyage series is constructed from the highest grade Tri-ply 18/10, essentially an aluminium core encased in stainless steel, but what you actually see is just a beautifully designed shiny stainless steel fry pan with a diamond textured handle which gives an exceptional grip. There are no fiddly bolts or screws needed to attach the handles, the pans come in one piece with the handles moulded in, so you can rest assured you won’t get a wobbly handle after a few months, and you don’t get that horrid build-up of grease around the fixings either. The other design feature that makes it stand out from the rest is the embossed “S” branded on the front of each pan, visually this takes the pans to another level, they are certainly nice enough to on permanent display on a hanging rack in your kitchen.

The box set contains two different size pans an 8” (20cm) perfect for eggs and pancakes, and a 10” (25cm) more suited to meats or omelettes, the size of each pan is clearly marked on the base just in case your recipe states a particular size pan.

Inside the box is also a use & care instruction leaflet. It explains the construction of the pans, how to clean and wash them and some cooking tips to keep them in tip top condition e.g. the recommendation to use silicone or nylon tools to keep the surface shiny. So, after washing in warm soapy water and vinegar as per the initial care instructions, I was ready to cook. The main thing I was worried about was the handles getting hot as they are moulded into the pan itself, the box does state “Signature stay cool handles” but will they work in practice?

And the answer is yes! The handles stayed cool throughout the whole cooking process including frying eggs and making several omelettes for the family. Afterwards, the egg residue, which normally sticks to the bottom of the pan, came off easily with a quick whizz round with a silicone spatula and then, being dishwasher safe, I was able to just drop the pans straight in the dishwasher to be cleaned. They needed a quick buff with a tea towel when the cycle had finished just to remove a few watermarks, but otherwise they were ready to pop straight back in the cupboard or the hanging rack.

The pans are suitable for any heat source, I used mine on the Aga and the gas hob, are oven safe up to 500 degrees Fahrenheit and beautifully designed so what are you waiting for, purchase as a gift for that special someone today or maybe just treat yourself for a stunning kitchen display.
