Disney’s Beauty and the Beast comes to Maidstone this March

Local performing arts group, Maidstone Operatic Society, are back at the Hazlitt Theatre in March for their brand new production. Opening on 24 March with a BSL interpreted performance, don’t miss Disney’s Beauty and the Beast!

“Every performance from MAOS is a treat! The energy, talent, and passion they bring to the stage are incredible. It’s clear how much hard work goes into every detail, and it always pays off with a fantastic show. I can’t wait to see what they do next!”

The classic story tells of Belle, a young woman in a small provincial French town. Follow Belle on her journey where she encounters the Beast, a selfish and spoiled young prince trapped under the spell of an enchantress. Disguised as an old beggar woman, the enchantress arrives at the castle and offers the prince an enchanted rose in exchange for shelter from a storm. When he scornfully declines, she reveals her true form and transforms him into a beast and his servants into household objects.

To break the spell and be transformed into his former self, the Beast must learn to love another and earn their love in return before the last petal falls from the enchanted rose. If the Beast does not learn his lesson soon, he and his enchanted household will be doomed for all eternity…
