With two school-aged children who are always looking for something different to entertain them and let their creative juices flow, I jumped at the opportunity to review the Creamy Deco Baby Activity Case.
The case arrived super quickly, interestingly only shrink-wrapped in black polythene, but arrived miraculously pristine, I was impressed. Once we’d got the package open, we found a pastel turquoise and lilac carry case, with a clip fastening, with a colourful cardboard sleeve around the middle. When we slipped the cardboard sleeve off, inside the carry case we found the creative goodies, consisting of:
3 tubes of decorative ‘cream’ and 3 nozzles for the tubes
1 pair of tweezers
1 bag of clay decorations
1 bag of foil decorations
1 heart shaped blister pack with decorations
7 playful charms
3 key chains
3 acrylic plates to decorate
3 hairclips
1 baby with stand
1 set of instructions
The instruction sheet is pictorial, bright, and pretty straightforward, which means that my 8 year old could crack on and get going with this fun activity. The simple illustrations make each step obvious.
What I instantly loved about this set was the variety of decorating options. You can choose from a hairclip, three different shaped keychains, or even the baby figure itself, which gives children plenty of freedom to pick whatever sparks their imagination. Although the instructions offer a few suggested designs, the real joy is that kids can get completely creative and design something totally unique to them. It’s the kind of activity where their personality shines through in every swirl, charm and colour choice.
The kit was easy to use with the cream tubes, simple for little hands to squeeze, the charms and accessories were straightforward to attach, and nothing felt too fiddly or frustrating. It’s one of those sets where the children can get stuck in almost immediately, with no complicated setup. My daughter chose to do a mix between putting the decorations on by hand and using the tweezers.
Once the activity was completed, there wasn’t loads of clearing up to do either. Just removing the nozzles off the tubes and replacing the caps for next time. Taking just a few moments to rinse the nozzles to remove any excess cream, so they were ready for the next use.
We left the finished creations to harden off and dry overnight, attached the colourful keychains through the hole and then my daughter couldn’t wait to attach her designs to her school bookbag.
I loved that this activity is relatively mess free, can be done indoors, and can be completed independently by older children or enjoyed together with any younger ones. It’s also an activity with a clear start and finish in a short amount of time, resulting in some funky creations.
What I also really loved was that the activity case can be reused afterwards, with multiple possible uses. Once all the decorating fun is over, the pastel carry case doesn’t just become yet another bit of plastic clutter, instead it transforms into a genuinely handy little storage box. It’s sturdy enough to hold small toys, hair accessories, craft bits, or even become a “treasure case” for children who love collecting tiny, random items.
The Creamy Deco Baby Activity Case has an RRP of £9.99, which I think is fantastic value for money. I would happily pay this for the set and would recommend this item for anyone looking for a creative Christmas present.
The product is aimed at ages 6+, which feels about right. My youngest is 5 and needed a little supervision (but she can be a loose cannon!), while my 8‑year‑old could complete most of the activity himself, although I’ll admit I enjoyed getting stuck in and helping him out. The age guidance feels realistic: younger children can absolutely join in with a bit of support, and older ones get that lovely sense of independence as they create.
