T.G.I. Friday’s Enfield Review
T.G.I. Friday’s
Enfield, London

My husband, seven year old son and myself went to T.G.I. Friday’s in Enfield, London. The restaurant was easy to find with plenty of parking. We went on a Wednesday evening about 6.45pm and were told that there was about a half an hour wait. We didn’t expect to need to book midweek but clearly there is a need. At 7.10pm we were seated at the same time as a few other groups, so assume that 7pm and at 7.30pm as more groups were seated just after this time that staff shifts start. There is outdoor seating if you don’t mind being in rows, when we went it was too cold to eat outside so don’t know how often this is used or whether for just a drink before the meal.
The motorbike at the front is a nice touch. Lots of kids sitting on it having their photo taken.
For starters we had the ciabatta garlic bread with cheese and mozzarella dippers the garlic bread was cooked well but lacked flavour. The mozzarella dippers were adequate, nothing special. I had a good quality chardonnay wine.
My husband had steak, ribs and prawns. The ribs were good, tasty and the meat fell off the bone. The steak was okay but a little bit gristly. The prawns were dry. I had the French Dip burger which was disappointing. I wished I’d had a rack of ribs as the few that my husband had were lovely and would appear their speciality. The burger was a good size but the garlic mayonnaise was insignificant and the cheese had little flavour. The chips were lukewarm and for me, too salty. My son had the chicken fingers and the batter was a little dry. He said it was okay. We didn’t realise until later that his meal had actually come without beans. The meals were filling, we certainly couldn’t eat dessert.
For mediocre food we felt that it was very overpriced. The kid’s meals were better priced. Service was good, staff friendly and attentive. The place had a good atmosphere and was very clean. Perhaps we are missing something as the place was heaving for midweek but it wasn’t for us. Overall we didn’t think that the place wasn’t good value for money compared with similar establishments and there is significant room for improving the quality of food and give it 3 out of 5 stars.
T.G.I Friday’s offer a wide range of burgers and ribs and have a large range of cocktails.
Rating: 3/5
