With the beautiful sights of Windsor castle ahead, I was full of anticipation when going to the Theatre Royal in Windsor to see Cirque Berserk – “real circus made for theatre” that is now entering its fifth entertaining year. Over thirty jugglers, acrobats, aerialists, dancers, drummers and daredevil stuntmen in a wonderful show of live entertainment that will leave you in awe.
The cold autumn breeze was the perfect juxtaposition of the warm environment of the theatre for the traditional Cirque Berserk. On first impression it was dark and welcoming everyone had an excited attitude and the staff were brilliant.
Before the show the audience urged to not turn off phones take and share as much as they want.
The Timbuktutumblers were the first act that caught my attention they were very traditional, and the extreme skill and they worked in perfect harmony. I could tell they had practiced regularly and cared about the show they gave.
The Mustache Brothers and their skilled choreography was brilliant. They were so funny they had the crowd involved and they definitely didn’t involve any wigs or flowers.
Toni attaches his wife to a spinning wheel and hurls knifes, axes and flames at her whilst landing within touching distance, absolutely breathtaking!
Globe of Terror quite literally had the audience on the end of our seats! The performance was so intense and the act they performed was truly gripping. A group of motorbikes looping inside a globe, I don’t want to give too much away…
All these acts are performed without any safety harnesses or barriers and with just trust and this definitely makes the acts stand out from the crowd. The show is outstanding, 5 stars without a doubt.
