I had the opportunity to take my two boys to have Breakfast with Santa yesterday at Twinlakes Theme Park near Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire. It was an early start, as you’d think given we were going for breakfast and we needed to be at the park by 8am.

On arrival we were met by a group of very enthusiastic elves who took us through the park to the building where we were to have breakfast. I’m not sure at this point who was more excited, my boys or the elves! The boys, Harry (6) and Sam (5) sat down to cereals, juice and a full English breakfast finishing – amazing they still had room – with pancakes with smiley faces made with chocolate sauce! The adults weren’t forgotten and I had a very generous bacon sandwich with a lovely cup of coffee. My friend Nicola who had joined us with her two children was even able to have a bacon sandwich made with gluten free bread!

The elves were extremely attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them to either enhance the experience for the children or keep the adults happy. The highlight of breakfast though was a visit from the big man himself as the children were eating. After breakfast the children got the chance to decorate their own gingerbread men, which despite being a bit messy was great fun! During the gingerbread decorating all of the children were called through to Santa’ grotto where we got the chance to walk through a Winter Wonderland and have a ride on a train before we arrived at the North Pole!

The boys then had a chance to meet Santa again, talk to him about their Christmas lists and have their photo taken – which is included in the package. At the end of the visit the boys got a golden ticket to be able to go into Santa’s workshop and chose a gift. The gift selection was excellent with lots of choices for boys and girls of varying ages – in fact it took quite some time for Sam to make his choice! Initially I thought the ticket cost was quite high, it’s £29.99 for a child over 108cms and £21.98 for an accompanying adult but now I actually think its good value. It really will be an experience that my boys will remember as they were made such a fuss over by the elves and Santa and from my perspective the fact that it’s only a maximum of 25 children means that you avoid all the stress of long queue for Santa’s grotto! With the experience lasting two hours and allowing you access to the rest of the park when it’s over I do think that this is good value. My thanks go to all the very attentive staff for making a stress free – for me – and very memorable – for the boys – Santa Experience.

There are still tickets available for 8th Dec event but 14th, 22nd and 24th Dec is all sold out!
