This SEVENTEEN On The Spot Foundation from Boots seemed a great choice for my daughter and I. Both of us suffer from bouts of spots and she (13 years) is worried about her skin and being caked in foundation all day.
We both loved the packaging, a neat silver tube but with a proper pump which dispenses just the right amount of foundation. And it has a lid preventing any messy spillages. We found we had to give it a good shake to begin with to dispense any air and then the pump gave us out the foundation. We had the natural colour and I believe there are another 5 shades to choose from (Biscuit, Fair, Honey, Natural, Porcelain and Soft Ivory). This colour worked well for my daughter although slightly pale for me.
I use a foundation brush to apply my foundation and by doing so I found it to be full, neat and even coverage. I also found it evened out my skin tone and helped to cover the spots I had. It was a nice mattish finish but gave a silky look rather than cakey like some foundations can. My daughter however used her fingers and sponge and felt it was a lighter perhaps more medium coverage so perhaps it depends on how it is applied what finish you get. We both found it easy to apply and a couple of pumps was more than enough to cover our skin. The foundation also has an SPF15 which I suppose for our Scottish weather isn’t too bad!
With regards to lasting power we both were quite impressed and at the end of a long day at school and work we only felt we would need to touch up our blusher and perhaps use a finishing powder to mop up any shine, but as far as coverage goes our skin looked good.
This foundation has Salicylic Acid in it which helps prevent and fight against spots and acne and over 4 weeks we should see a difference in our skin. When applying I felt I could feel slight tingling on my skin which could be this ingredient as I found that before when it has been in other products, having said that it did not irritate my skin. However, it may irritate sensitive skin so you would have to test on a small area first. We have used this for about three weeks so not the full 4 weeks as yet, but my daughter feels her spots are not as firey and red looking – I’ve not seen a huge improvement but my skin feels lovely wearing this foundation. It’s a great price at £3.99 and would last quite a while and due to the tube style is one you could squeeze every last drop out of.
I would recommend this foundation for young problem skin – it’s a great price for girls starting out wearing foundation and quick and easy to apply.
RRP: £6.99 (currently on offer at £3.99 – price correct as of 24/8/16).
