Before I had my daughter, Boots the chemist was exactly that – a pharmacy; somewhere I would pick up my vitamins, pop some shampoo in my basket or treat myself to the latest lash lengthening mascara. Baby clothes weren’t on my radar and even when I became a Mum, when it came to purchasing outfits for my little girl, Boots wasn’t my first (nor my second or third) point of call. I was however, missing out. Now that I’ve discovered Boots Mini Club range of clothes for newborns to six-year-olds, I leave the shop with not only the aforementioned products, a month’s supply of nappies, wipes and bum cream but also, an addition or two to the little one’s wardrobe.

My 21-month-old daughter has been giving the Mini Club ‘Cherries’ dress and legging set the toddler test. The outfit includes a short-sleeved dress with a colourful, playful cherry print and a stand-out Peter Pan collar, paired with bright pink leggings, cutely adorned with decorative buttons at the ankle. The outfit is girly in an understated ‘ready for play’ way, perfect for my little climber who as well as scaling the heights in play gyms, loves to give a twirl to the mirror and anyone she considers ready to admire her ‘get-up’. Both the leggings and the dress seem comfortable and offer plenty of room for toddler manoeuvre without stretching out of shape. They wash well and barely need an iron, if at all.

When it comes to getting my little one dressed, more often than not a chase around the bedroom will ensue, so the easy to pull on leggings with their elasticated waist and the dress with just three non-fiddly buttons to do up, are a Godsend.

Priced at £10, the outfit offers good value for money and I’d put the range in the same bracket as Next clothing. It’s perhaps not the cheapest but all my items from Boots have survived the expected spillages, splashes and soils and come out the other side remarkably well. The clothes I’ve bought have lasted until they’ve been outgrown with colour and shape retaining their excellent condition.

Clothes in the Mini Club range are labelled with a height and weight guideline alongside an age up to 12 months. After one, the items continue to include a height. The difference in clothes size does differ from shop to shop (as does child size from one sprog to the next) so the more information the better.

My daughter enjoyed toddler group, a trip to the supermarket and a play in her ball pool in her latest Mini Club outfit. No complaints from her. Or me. Boots is a great place to pick up quality children’s clothing that with bright colours, funky designs and comfort will appeal to those wearing them too. From character pyjamas and snuggly baby grows to swimming gear and party wear, you’ll find an outfit for every occasion. If you haven’t already browsed the racks in ‘the chemist’ (or if you’re an online shopper, viewed the range at www.boots.com/baby-child/kids-clothes-mini-club), I’d recommend you take a look.
