Bobux Paddington Waterproof Boots Review
Reviewed by Debbie Talbot
My 7-year-old twins seem to be growing so quickly these days. They also tend to be quite boisterous in their play and their poor school shoes have tended to end up damaged. I therefore wanted a quality pair of boots to keep their feet warm and dry in the colder, wetter months. I was delighted to be offered two pairs of Bobux Paddington Boots to review.
The boots arrived quickly, well packaged in sturdy shoe boxes. What first struck me was the quality of the materials used and how vibrant and beautiful the colours were of both the yellow and gold boots we received (also available in red, navy and silver). The material felt so soft to touch. Fastening and unfastening the boots is simple, you use the zip and a popper. It’s the perfect fastening for my little boys to use. We tend to go out exploring the outdoors at all times of year, hot and cold and wet and dry. I was therefore delighted to see that once the boots have been submerged in water, they still keep children’s’ feet dry for up to and over 4 hours. The lining of the boots is fine merino that helps keep their little feet warm. The boots themselves are made from leather. The finish of the gold boots is a high-shine gold finish. The finish of the yellow boots is a high-shine yellow finish. These boots look traditional but have definitely been designed with foot heath in mind. The soles are made to be high grip ones.
Adjustability and fit wise, the boots have a side zip and elasticated gusset. The boots are a standard length and have been designed to fit average width feet. The boots are a fixed shape and are therefore non-adjustable.
Materials used – coated leather with gloss finish upper. The website also tells me that the boots have a White Kid + TPR Sole. This is where the boots have been designed to reflect that children’s foot shape is maturing. The lining is a merino wool knit lining. Materials used are flexible, breathable and durable. The boots are also scuff resistant, a godsend if you knew my little boys! All materials used are child safe and non-toxic, In fact they have been tested to EU REACH standards.
The website also provides useful care instructions. The boots should be wiped clean with a damp cloth and then dried naturally away from direct sunlight. They should not be bleached, soaked or tumble dried. The Bobux website also has a handy size fit guide.
I can see these boots being outgrown rather than losing their quality and thrown out. They are wonderful and the nicest pair of boots my sons have ever owned. The colours are so cheery too. These Bobux boots, and Bobux products in general, would make an excellent practical Christmas Gift idea for a child in your life. As a busy parent of 3 children practical tends to be my go-to most of the time.
