I was delighted to receive two items from the Blackmoor Home Company to review – a very stylish knife set and a fantastic casserole pot from their Blue-Pro range.
With thoughts turning to home cooked winter-warmer meals, I was eager to put these items to the test.
The Blackmoor Home Company is a UK based firm who pride themselves on producing high performance, stylish cookware. Based in Liverpool, this firm, which launched in 2016, now has a global market supplying various cookware and home items. Their innovative products – with such attention to detail and style – would look good in any kitchen setting and this was immediately evident when I unpacked the Casserole Pot.
As part of their Blue-Pro range, I loved the deep blue, shiny coating. The pot was simply packaged with a great amount of information on the wrapper including care instructions to keep this item in tip-top condition.
This versatile casserole is designed to be used either on the hob or within the oven. Being constructed from forged aluminium, the five-layer hybrid stone construction allows quick heat conduction and can be used on electric, gas or induction hobs.
I decided to use this item in conjunction with the knife set I also received to review, to cook a beef casserole. The knives had already coped easily with the chopping and cutting of the ingredients! It was great to have the one-pot approach, being able to brown the meat in the casserole before adding all the other ingredients.
As advised, before use I wiped the pan with oil to help maintain the non-stick surface. Minimal cooking oil was required and the non-stick surface was great. With all the ingredients added, transferring to the oven was simple. The tempered glass lid which is ovenproof up to temperatures of 220*C , fitted securely and the two stainless steel handles on the sides were really helpful when having to move the casserole. These handles and the stainless-steel rims added a good contrast to the blue pot colour.
When cooking was finished, it was great to be able to use the pot as a serving dish for the family meal. It can also be used on a hot-plate if required to keep the meal hot.
It is advised to hand-wash the pot to preserve its non-stick surface and also to always use silicone type utensils to prevent scratches.
The casserole is just one of the items available in the Blackmoor’s Blue-Pro range, with other items ranging in size from 16cm up to 28cm. This is a range that can be gradually added to, to make an impressive collection of pans. Maybe an ideal Christmas gift selection for the cook in your life!
The robust, hard wearing and multifunctional casserole certainly ticks all the boxes for being part of your essential kitchen equipment. The whole range is stylish enough to be displayed in your kitchen and the scratch- resistant, colourful finish certainly will make this a long – lasting feature whatever your kitchen style.
Another great product range from this UK company.
