If you want a fun night out for all ages head along to the Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall where Cinderella is on stage, twice a day, right up to Sunday 3rd January 2016.
Jamie Rickers from CITV is the star of the show in my eyes playing a fantastic Buttons, and Dani Harmer from CBeebies plays the leading lady Cinderella with the fairy godmother being played by Louise Jameson of EastEnders fame. In addition to the main three there is a superb cast including the Ugly Sisters, Baron Hardup and Prince Charming backed up by the McAllister Brown Dance School and Bright Sparks Performers, everyone on stage look like they are thoroughly enjoying themselves all throughout the show.
As you would hope for a pantomime the show was packed full of humour and we were laughing all night, there were plenty of silly jokes to keep the children happy and also enough of the more adult ones which kept all ages in stitches.
The story is the traditional Cinderella storyline with the (very) ugly sisters making Cinderella their slave, cooking and cleaning for them. When she meets the Prince in the woods collecting firewood they fall in love at first sight and her fairy godmother steps in to make sure she gets to the ball. The scenery is excellent and with a plethora of set changes and costume changes the pantomime is really fast moving, great to keep children interested. The story is backed up by loads of chart topping hits sang by the cast, whilst the singing may not have been the best the accompanying dancing more than made up for it and it certainly kept the audience entertained.
I recommend you try and get tickets for Cinderella if you can. Tunbridge Wells Assembly Hall has had a recent facelift including new comfy seats and bar area and has easy access for wheelchairs and the less mobile together parking right next door makes for a great night out for all of the family.
Tickets cost from £17 to £24.50 (booking fees may apply).
