According to Google, “the Amazfit GTR 2e is the new classic essential smart watch. The borderless design concept includes a 1.39-inch AMOLED HD screen covered by curved glass, which naturally transitions to the carefully polished watch body, resulting in a better visual aesthetic and a wider field of vision. With a variety of colors and an elegant and versatile appearance, the watch will perfectly fit most of your outfits and occasions, and a quick release mechanism makes the strap easily changeable.”
So, with this being how it was described, I was super excited to receive my watch! When it arrived, it came with a pink silk-like silicone watch strap but purchased a black one shortly after as I work in a school and need a dark colour for all messy eventualities! Happy to say these watch straps are really affordable too!
When I unboxed my watch, I loved how quick and easy it was to set it up and download the app onto my phone. The watch charges easily and quickly with a simple magnetic strip charger, featuring a more sophisticated circuit design, a thinner body, and a high-capacity battery, the GTS 2e has an extended battery life to power you through up to 14 days of activity with typical use. I did find the instruction booklet a bit daunting as it’s rather thick with incredibly small writing but the app made it quite simple to understand all the functions and find what you are looking for.
You can activate one of the many sports modes and the watch will produce a report crammed full of tell tale information after you finish to help you improve your exercise plan.
Intelligent recognition of sports modes eliminates the need to manually select the sports mode, and 5 ATM water-resistance means you can wear it while you swim. What I was most interested to see was it’s durability in the pool. I swim a lot and being able to check my health performance while training and doing what I love, I was really happy to see that it was water proof up and had both a health and fitness tracker. The watch can provide precision 24-hour heart rate monitoring, covering heart rate zones to keep you aware of the exercise effect, and providing warnings when your resting heart rate is abnormally elevated. I have used it in the pool with great success but only time will tell whether it’s durable enough to resist it long term – I have used it for the last five days. Other watches have failed me over time as the water eventually manages to get in and wreck it.
Features that were brand new to me was an SpO2 measurement function. When you engage in sustained mental or physical activity, you can test your SpO2 level the moment you start feeling unwell, to get a better understanding of your physical condition. It also includes a unique PAI feature which calculates the value by processing data about your heart rate, exercise time, and other complex health information with an algorithm. This simple, single-value score provides a customized health evaluation for each user based on their specific health data, offering everyone a unique experience.
Overall, I have thoroughly enjoyed learning to use this new edition. It’s fun and easy, looks amazing and provides great information about my lifestyle with no effort.
Rating: Definitely a 5/5 from me, this watch will make an absolutely fantastic Christmas present for anyone!!!
