I’ve not completed a jigsaw since lockdown and had forgotten how much I enjoyed them, it’s such a good way to get a break from looking at screens and to focus your mind on something relaxing, there’s such a sense of achievement when you find a piece you’ve been looking for and it really sharpens your attention to detail, my wife and I got a bit competitive at finding the pieces it was so funny we were like children again.
I noticed that any visitors we had were drawn to the puzzle we had on the go at the time and stayed a while to put in a few pieces, like many other traditional games they are great for bringing people together.
I received the Family-Fun bundle, there are three puzzles in this bundle, the 1000 piece “Santa’s Visit” which it is suggested would be suitable for mum and dad, the wooden 300 piece “Christmas “ (by the humorous artist Tim Bulmer) which was suggested suitable for older children and a 100 piece “Santa’s Special Delivery” which is aimed at younger children.
This bundle would make a good family gift.
After completing all the puzzles I can say that the quality is excellent, both the pieces and the boxes will withstand years, possibly generations of use.
The 1000 piece “Santa’s Visit” is a beautiful Christmas scene, lots of snow which makes it a hard core jigsaw puzzle I’ve not completed it yet but managing to add a few pieces to it every day and so do the rest of the family so this is a real family project.
The “Christmas” jigsaw although only 300 pieces was quite a challenge and took way longer to complete than I had imagined, the pieces are wooden and chunkier than the normal puzzle pieces, they also come with a linen drawstring bag to keep the pieces together and a fold out copy of the picture.
I really enjoyed doing “Santa’s Special Delivery” jigsaw with my 6 year old granddaughter, she couldn’t have done it on her own yet but it was good for her to try and do something a bit more difficult. I know this puzzle will be brought out of the toy box time and time again and she will get great satisfaction out of getting better and better at it.
Available from alljigsawpuzzles.co.uk at the time of writing there was 20% off and the price was £53.57 for the bundle.
I think it is well worth paying a bit more for a quality jigsaw puzzle as they are used time and time again.
In addition to the “alljigsaw” puzzles that are made by the company in Devon the online shop is packed full of all types of puzzles, if like me your love of jigsaw puzzles has been reignited or your looking for a gift for a jigsaw enthusiast this is the place to go, I saw lots of puzzles here that I have never seen anywhere before along with some useful accessories they also offer a personalised service making jigsaw puzzles out of your photographs or a map created around a significant address.
