The Child’s Farm Slumber Time gift set (lavender and moon milk) was received in a cardboard outer pack suitable for recycling.  The gift pack itself is also of cardboard and is a most attractive dark blue box suggesting the contents within are for bedtime; with images of cuddly creatures, stars and moon as well.  The pack contains a bath soak, calming massage oil and a sleep mist.

The fragrance for each product is a “uniquely created lavender and moon milk fragrance using DreamScentz sleep enhancing technology”.  The main aim of the product is to aid a restful night’s sleep for babies and toddlers.  With this in mind sleep fragrance experts have been consulted throughout the production process.

We tried the bath soak first.  The bottle contains 250ml.  The bubbles felt silky to the touch and were long lasting; the cleansers used are designed to clean delicate skin gently without causing any harm.  The oils certainly left the toddler’s skin feeling hydrated and soft.

The formula used has been created with both dermatologists and paediatricians and is said to aid moisturisation for up to 12 hours.  I would agree with this, however I couldn’t identify any scent.

The following night we used the calming massage lotion.  This is supplied in a 150ml tube and contains Shea butter which moves easily on the skin so the massage routine was equally enjoyable to myself and the toddler.  Although a thick cream it was absorbed easily.  This is said to last for up to 24 hours on the skin and has a very pleasant scent.

Lastly we tried the sleep mist.  This is in a 100ml bottle and will last a very long time as only a short burst onto the pillow or sheet is enough for the lovely scent to be absorbed by the fabric without being overpowering.
NB: this is not recommended for babies under 6 months old.

There is a lot of information on line about the Child’s Farm products; initially created by a parent looking for products for their children which were suitable for delicate skins and not containing harmful ingredients.  The company has since won many awards for its innovative approach to skin care.  I feel this is something we are all more concerned about now than in the past; parents and carers are questioning what their children are consuming including potential hazards to health through contact with chemicals.

The Child’s Farm website includes the longest A-Z list of ingredients used in its products then I have ever read before clarifying what each ingredient is used for so parents can make thoroughly informed decisions about the suitability of each product.  This must be a welcome bonus to parents who have children with specific skin conditions.  The company claims to provide vegan products dermatological approved for sensitive skins using carefully chosen preservatives at a low concentration.  This is all good news to the consumer.

Reviews on line appear to be mostly positive.  They include parents relieved to find bath and sleep time products suitable for children with eczema prone skin, compliments about the calming fragrance, and comments about the naturally sourced ingredients.  Much attention nowadays is given to products that help both people and the planet.  I noticed that the company claim that their bottles contain up to 99% natural ingredients and that the packaging is made from “Prevented Ocean Plastic” appealing to the consumer concerned with protecting the planet.

In conclusion it is easy to recommend this Slumber Time Gift Set for its lovely fragrances, the quality of the product and the knowledge that the ingredients are eco friendly and cruelty free.

Whether an individual child will sleep better is hard to determine but a regular bedtime routine along with the sensory associations this product gives them the best chance.
