Baked By Sponge Super Sharing Cake Review

On Saturday morning I received an early morning delivery from Sponge Online Cakes.  Three cakes were delivered by 8.30am and were packaged really well.  The boxes were taped together very securely so there was no chance they would become separated in transit.  There was also a THIS WAY UP notice in red on every box.  The delivery driver left them in my secure porch as I was upstairs still.

On Sunday, once family were round and we had finished our roast dinner we decided to sample the cakes instead of having our usual dessert.

The third box we opened had a Super Sharing Cake inside which was huge! This cake was made up of individual wedges from 14 different types of cake, fourteen delicious flavours all in one cake.  Each slice was carefully separated from the next.  It also had a long sell by date.

Sponge Cakes Online say, ‘Our Super Sharing Cake has fourteen different flavoured wedges and makes a stunning centrepiece for a party or event.’  It certainly would!

There is a wedge of each of the following delicious cakes. Carrot, Chocolate, Victoria, Lemon, Coffee, Biscoff Speculoos, (this cake intrigues me as I love the little biscuits often served with coffee).  Red Velvet, Sticky Toffee, Rocky Road, Millionaires, Apple Crumble, Chocolate Orange, Chocolate & Caramel as well as Seasonal Special. Each wedge of cake is as delicious as the next with perfect sponge cake and filling. Where do you start?

My daughter told me today the Apple Crumble cake was delicious, she said it really did taste like Apple Crumble.  My younger granddaughter and her dad were debating which wedges of cake or cakes they would try.  They were spoilt for choice!  A little bird told me some wedges of the sharing cake were heading to college with granddaughter whilst others were heading to work with her dad! 

I think it is a really fabulous idea for a cake to have so many delicious flavours. Something for everyone.

Sponge Online Cakes say they use natural oils and flavours for their bakes and on the box, it also states they proudly use British Ingredients.  They also stated ‘Our bakes are lovingly handmade in small batches’.

Someone had a fantastic idea at Sponge Online Cakes when they decided to combine fourteen wedges of different cakes into one cake!

It is amazing they are able to produce such a variety of cakes which they can send out to customers by courier in the knowledge that they will all arrive in perfect condition. This is because of the excellent way in which the cakes we sampled were packed, not one of the cakes I received was damaged in any way.

I have been browsing the Sponge Online Cakes website to see what other cakes they offer and am really pleased to see they also offer Gluten Free and Dairy Free Cakes and there are quite a few too.  All their Gluten Free cakes are made in their totally separate Gluten Free Bakery which is great and will avoid accidental cross contamination with gluten.  As I have a granddaughter who is coeliac this is great news. We always struggle to find her a decent gluten free birthday cake which everyone can share, but I feel the answer is with Sponge Online Cakes.  They offer so many different flavours of cake.
