With one of the hottest weekends of the year so far, what better product to receive to review than the Little Tikes Spinning Seas Water Table.  Having had other Little Tikes products in the past which have given much enjoyment to my children and grandchildren, I had eagerly awaited the arrival of the water table and was delighted when it arrived in time for our ‘mini heatwave’!!

The Little Tikes Company is an American firm which was founded in 1970. Known for producing durable and imaginative products, this multi-national manufacturer is renowned for supplying high quality children’s play equipment.  The huge box arrived safely and I was immediately impressed at how colourful and detailed the box was. Each element was illustrated and described so it would be certain to catch the eye of any would-be purchaser.
Inside the box there were many pieces which would need to be constructed so be aware that this may take some time (and patience!!). The strongly constructed base was a beautiful eye catching aqua colour and the impressed shell designs inside the water table added interest to the main bowl. The legs were easy to insert and gave a height suitable for the recommended age of 24 months+. There was a drainage plug which needed to be inserted – this was the first challenge of the construction! After several attempts ( it does recommend using pliers to pull it through which I did not have at hand) the plug sat snugly in place and was a good feature to ease emptying of the tray. Next onto the main tower construction – initially this looked easy but you really do need to follow the enclosed instructions carefully. I really struggled to get the pieces to fit correctly but once everything was in place, it certainly was very sturdy. This tower was the main feature with two spinners that twirled when water was poured into the top. I did feel that the spinners would have been more effective if a bit larger – a large volume of water was needed to obtain a good effect. I was also puzzled why there were three construction rods but only two spinners!! The other features were 1. A turning, Ferris wheel which scooped water and balls up when the crank handle was turned, 2. A ball launcher to flip the balls into the water and 3. A spinner which made a whirl pool effect when turned. The water table also came with five plastic balls each with individual characters on them and a cup scoop to pour water from. All these features were well constructed and brightly coloured.

This water table is great for fun, interactive play, giving much scope for pouring, spraying and splashing in the sunshine. My granddaughters aged 4 and 6 certainly found it very entertaining. It could even be used as a sand tray as an alternative play activity.

I found it to be a very sturdy water table with no leaks or wobbles once initially set up. With a recommended age of 24 month – 6 years this product will give your children many years of fun.  A good, well constructed water table built to last and entertain your family.
