My teenage daughter and I have both amassed quite the collection of beauty products now. I have to say though that her collection puts mine to shame. To say that she was excited when 5 Procoal products arrived for us to try out is an understatement.
The first product we received was Procoal London Activated Charcoal Exfoliating Face Scrub (RRP: £8.99). This product comes in a 75ml tube and I absolutely love the colours used for the tube design. The orange works perfectly with the black area of the tube which says ‘activated charcoal’. The tube is clearly laid out with lots of useful information about what the product can do and which ingredients are contained in the face scrub. Having the information about ingredients is useful in situations where someone is known to react to certain ingredients. The product is cruelty free and has been developed and formulated in the UK. The product’s tube tells us that this is a powerful and detoxifying facial scrub which helps to gentle exfoliate, cleans and detoxify the skin. The allantoin it contains supposedly encourages natural skin exfoliation and the calendula oil helps in the task of restoring the water balance of your skin.

Does the product meet up to these claims? Yes it does. Mine and my daughter’s skin has never been in such good condition. It feels so soft and clean. I love the fact that this product is free from parabens, SLS, mineral oil and paraffin. Wherever possible I use as natural products as possible and my daughter is the same. I like the fact that a little of this product goes a long way, no buying new tubes too often. Have I told you how good it smells? It is delightful. I would rate it 5/5 for price and quality of the product.
The second product we received was Procoal London Activated Charcoal Purifying Detox Mask (RRP: £8.99). This product, like the face scrub, comes in a handy 75ml tube. The simple white, green and black design works well and the tube itself could not be laid out better. All of the key information is available like the ingredients so that if someone, for example, has an allergy to a certain product or products, they can avoid this product. The product smells great and has the perfect consistency to apply to your skin. 75ml is the perfect size to not have to replace the product too often. The tube tells us that this purifying face mask is powerful, fast acting and is a radiance restore mask. That’s a lot to live up to, so does it work?

It’s made from a blend of three natural clays and these I think are key to it working. The product does seem to help to eliminate impurities and excess sebum. Both my daughter’s skin and my own looked clean and less dull after use. I love the fact that the product is both cruelty free and developed and formulated in the UK. I only needed a small amount of this product as the tube instructs you to apply just a thin layer all over your face except for the area where your eyes are. It’s recommended that you then leave it on for 5-10 minutes until the clay hardens. After this time, it was easily removed with either a wet towel or warm water. This product is free from parabens, silicones, SLS, mineral oil and paraffin. I far prefer using natural products these days. I have applied this product as specified on the tube 3 times a week since receiving it and it is now a firm part of my beauty regime. It was a big hit with my daughter too. 5/5 for value and quality.
Next, we used the Procoal London Ditch the Bottle Shampoo Bar (RRP: £6.95). The shampoo bar is a lovely pale pink colour. It is round and looks very much like a bar of soap. It has white flecks too. I have to say I tend to use bottles of shampoo so I was not convinced that I would be won over by this product. How wrong was I! I travel quite a lot and I have to say that this shampoo bar is the perfect size to take along in my luggage. It is 100% vegan and cruelty free. It weighs 60g. The logo is a very simple design but works so well. It looks so sophisticated. All of the ingredients are listed on the back of the product, handy if you are allergic to certain products. I absolutely love the #DitchTheBottle hashtag. The shampoo bar was easy to use. I was relieved to find out that it goes a long way so it will not need replacing too often. It feels so nice to rub into your hair and is the perfect consistency when wet. My hair can tend to look and feel so lifeless but I have seen improvement after using this product. My teenage daughter has also become a fan of Procoal London products. 5/5 for value and effectiveness.

The 4th item we were sent was a Procoal Instaclear Control Mask (RRP: £13.99). The packaging for this is mainly orangey red and white. It’s 25ml, cruelty free and formulated in the UK. The ingredients and instructions on how to apply the mask are well laid out and simple to understand. My teenage daughter tried this out and loved pampering herself. I was surprised to learn from the packaging that the mask quantity wise is 1 bottle of 25ml serum on your skin. My daughter, like many teenagers has skin which can be troublesome. I think that this mask was made for her. Procoal appear to have found the perfect combination of premium extracts such as hydrolysed rice bran and white willow bark extract. It has worked to calm any redness she was experiencing and I do have to agree that it makes your skin look radiant. The test of any sheet mask though is how easy it is to apply and remove. This was a doddle. A pack of 3 has an RRP of £13.99 which I think represents great value as it is a lovely way to pamper yourself. 5/5 for value and effectiveness.

The final item we received as a Procoal London Marine Moisture Mask (RRP: £13.99). The packaging of this product is a lovely greeny blue and white colour. As with the other products we tried out, the packaging looked great and was full of useful but clear information. We are even told that the mask has the quantity of 1 25ml bottle of serum on your skin. This mask is so versatile as it is suitable for all skin types. My skin can be dry whereas my daughters can be problematic. It’s good to know that both of us could make use of a pack of 3 sheet masks.

Procoal seem to have found the perfect blend of active ingredients to both nourish and hydrate the skin. For my own skin this is particularly needed. As a 40 something I was delighted to see the claims that the product contains vital antioxidants to help diminish signs of ageing. Time will tell with this one I think. I would certainly agree with the claims that the hydrating ferments help transform the skin and leave it more balanced. This product too is cruelty free and formulated in the UK. It too was a doddle to apply and remove.
The RRP is £13.99 for a pack of 3, representing good value considering this is such a lovely way to pamper yourself.
I think that every single one of the Procoal products was great and worked well in the way they claim it to work. I would buy Procoal products again without hesitation. These products would make wonderful Christmas gifts and would be perfect as stocking fillers too.
