Cygnett UrbanShield Case for iPhone 7 Review

Reviewed by Nina Holmes
The packaging of the case was quite fancy, with a sideways slide out compartment holding the phone case and a magnet to hold the slide part in, very nice!
The case is a lovely design, black, snazzy and the patter seems to changes when you move it. It’s a very light case so doesn’t add any weight to your phone
Over time, it has been scratched quite a lot, you can barely see the scratches that have appeared which is great. The case was very easy to put on the phone, my phone simply clicked into place.
On the back of the case, just above the printed name, I have noticed that the metallic has started to wear off – I wouldn’t have normally have expected this wear quite so soon which is a shame
The case hasn’t got any grip and is quite slippery on certain surfaces so you need to be careful that your phone doesn’t slip off where you put it. I noticed this a lot in my car, I’ve had to change where I put my phone as it kept sliding everywhere!
Unfortunately, when I tried to get the case off my phone the part around the volume buttons snapped, luckily when the case is on the phone you can’t notice at all and it doesn’t impact on the use of the case. I have since managed to get the case off my phone again, this time from the bottom and it came off fine.
My first impressions were that it was a fantastic case and I loved the design, but over time with its fading metallic on the reverse and slippery smooths design, I’m not sure I would purchase another case like this (unless a few tweaks were made to the design) but it would most certainly suit others.
Compared to other cases, I would say the cost of the case is value for money.
