With Trafalgar Square to the South, Piccadilly Circus to the West, China Town to the North and Covent Garden to the East, Leicester Square is right in the heart of the West End. The atmosphere is vibrant and alive. There is a green centre and is lined with restaurants, espresso bars, ice cream counters, theatres and cinemas and we were off to the theatre to see Stick Man – Live On Stage!

On entering Leicester Square Theatre I was pleased to see each area being manned very effectively, we didn’t queue to pick up tickets, for refreshments or to go to our seats. There are bars on both entrances as you walk in, you are able to take your drinks/snacks with you to your seats and all purchases were very reasonably priced for a theatre.

On entering the theatre I was surprised at how small it was, much smaller than any theatre I have been to before, it gave a cosy feel though, very intimate.

The show began and immediately my children were gripped. Stick Man tells the story of a family man who is snatched by a dog whilst out for his daily jog. Stick Man finds himself in some very unfortunate situations such as being thrown in a river, used as a bat on the beach and his particular low point of being gathered for fire wood! Throughout the show Stick Man chants ‘I’m Stick Man, I’m Stick Man, I’M STICK MAN’, the children soon caught on with this and were joining in with his chants.

We found the show to be fantastic! It was amusing, great songs and the characters were exceptionally animated. There is also a good amount of adult humour thrown in too.

A lovely play to take children 3+ to this Christmas time!
