We visited Miller & Carter Steakhouse during a Sunday lunchtime. As usual the baby had delayed me and we arrived 15 minutes late for our 1pm booking. We were greeted by Sonia the deputy manager and I apologised. She was very polite and welcoming and said my late arrival was not a problem. This immediately put me at ease, as I feel quite agitated when late.
She showed us to our table which had been prepared with the highchair that we had requested at the time of booking. The restaurant was clean, light and comfortable. Sonia gave us a brief history of Miller & Carter and introduced us to Allison our waitress.
First things first and the baby was hungry and so I asked for some hot water to enable me to make his lunch, this was given to me without problem and my son was made to feel welcome. He was obviously comfortable as he allowed us to stay at the table for over 2 hours which can be difficult with an 8 month old who has no concept of the word patience.
Down to the menu and I have to say we were spoilt for choice. Making up our minds was no easy task but when in Rome and all that we decided we should indulge in a steak. We had Nachos to start, Ribeye Steak with an Iceburg Wedge dressed in cocktail sauce and a White Chocolate Box to finish. All of this was washed down with a glass of house Rose. Let’s just say I didn’t need to eat for the rest of the day.
Allison was attentive during our meal and asked if everything was alright and she gave the impression that nothing was too much trouble.
I felt that the meal was a fair price for the amount and quality of food served and I would definitely go back.
At the end of the meal Sonia came over to speak with us and explained the story behind Miller & Carter and the training they receive. She appeared passionate about her role within the company which is very refreshing to hear.
To sum up my review I would give this venue 5/5.
