There’s something lovely about receiving a gift set rather than simply clothes. It’s so nice to open a selection of matching items and that’s what this set contains. This Monkey Gift Set from Olive & Moss contains a brightly coloured footless baby gro with matching hat and bib and comes with a board book with the featured monkey in.
There was a certain sense of anticipation as I opened the beautifully presented package and unwrapped the tissue paper. The first thing that struck me was the quality of the material of the items. It is thick and soft 100% cotton, unlike many varieties of baby clothing I have tried. The second thing was how cute everything was!
I opted for the 6-12 month size. My boy is only 4 months but on the hefty side and I wanted the outfit to last as it is such a special set. It will certainly do that! It is difficult when the sizing can potentially cover many sizes: there is no doubt this will last for several months to come and the quality of material will contribute to this. The monkey appliqué is well applied and features a smiley attractive monkey. This is echoed on the well-proportioned bib. The hat is plain but of the same quality and is wearable with other outfits without clashing. The matching board book that features the same monkey is sturdy and brightly coloured, and caught the eye of not only my 4 month old but also his 2 year old brother! It is pitched at the younger baby with basic words but was a hit with both my boys! We enjoyed reading it all together.
The set would, in my opinion, be suitable for both boys and girls, particularly those that have a tendency to be little monkeys anyway! The price tag is a little hefty at £45 but worth it for a quality gift that will last and particularly if the gift is given as a present.
All in all I love this gift set and I would recommend it to all. I give it 5/5 and I would definitely buy another in future.
