In this day and age of bland TV created karaoke singers or 5 minute wonders of TV reality talent show winners Michael Bolton stands like a beacon of talent in the dross rubbish that fills the charts!

His voice is unique and powerful. Michael is annoyingly talented he just oozes talent without even trying! On this collection all the hits are there and is must have for any Michael Bolton fan.

The first time I saw Michael Bolton the first thing I remembered was his hair. Then I heard the voice and that was it. His effortless talent reminded me of Dean Martin who would just turn up grab a microphone sing and bring the house down. Michael Bolton is similar. I’m not saying that he is a crooner like the superb Mr Martin but you get the feeling he could just turn up grab the mic and belt out the hits with no rehearsal whatsoever!

This collection features all the hits from “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You” to “How Can We Be Lovers” and “Soul Provider” across this double CD package. The second disc has Mr Bolton teaming up with various artists like the late great Eva Cassidy, Delta Goodrem and Seal.

This second disc demonstrates Michael’s breadth of talent. His vocal dexterity suits itself to different styles. I have not heard such a powerful voice outside of Robert Plant at the height of his Led Zeppelin days.

Gems – The Very Best Of is an outstanding collection and lives up to all expectations.
