John Wilson and Sinfonia of London performing Rodgers and Hammerstein’s greatest hits at Lighthouse, Poole promises to be a real treat.
A must-see show that promises to excite and enthral the audience, with classics such as ‘Oh What a Beautiful Morning’, ‘People Will Say We’re In Love’ ‘Some Enchanted Evening’ ‘Younger Than Springtime’ and more from Rodgers and Hammerstein’s greatest musicals such as SOUTH PACIFIC, THE SOUND OF MUSIC, OKLAHOMA! CAROUSEL and THE KING AND I.
The unmissable partnership between John Wilson, the dynamic and charismatic conductor and Sinfonia of London, sometimes described as a ‘super-orchestra’ (Arts Desk) promises to be a true delight, with special guest soloists Louise Dearman, Nathaniel Hackmann & Scarlett Strallen adding to this fabulous event.
John Wilson, as conductor of the London Sinfonia since 2018, has attracted critical acclaim, being recognised worldwide and achieving numerous awards. According to The Guardian, their partnership ‘live performances are a special occasion’ and therefore should not be missed.
“John Wilson is the most exciting British conductor since Simon Rattle… his Sinfonia of London sets the gold standard – an orchestra of generals that takes the unfashionable, the obscure, the overlooked, and makes it unmissable” The Sunday Times
The UK tour starts on the 18th June in Brighton and will culminate in Gateshead, the composer’s home town, on 29th June.
The concert at Poole Lighthouse takes place on Thursday 19th June 2025 at 7pm.
