With Christmas quickly approaching most people have started to think of what to get people as gifts and what better than a festive hamper.  As a child I remember my mum getting a festive hamper delivered every Christmas that had a range of festive food and drink goodies, but was very repetitive every year.  Hampers.com specialises in handmade luxury hampers and gift baskets.  Each product is carefully selected and they use only the finest quality products.  They aim to source from British producers where possible to reduce impact on the environment and ensure all their gift packaging is either recyclable or reusable.

The Festive Favourites hamper arrived in a hampers.com logo designed cardboard box which is recyclable.  The actual hamper inside the box came in a festive designed medium sized reusable sack.  I hadn’t seen this before but thought it was a clever idea.  Inside the hamper were 9 food and 2 drink Christmas themed snack items.  The items were all quality food brands, some even award winning.

In the hamper were:
Panettone by Amaretti Virginia (100g)
Grandma Wild’s 4 Luxury Mince Pies
Apple & Cinnamon Milk Chocolate Bar by Choc Affair (90g)
Bombay Mix by Howdah (150g)
Choccy Scoffy Chocolate Truffles by Monty Bojangles (100g)
Orange Thins by Anna’s
The CCC Mini Mint Drizzle Bar (38g)
Joe & Seph’s Speculoos Popcorn (30g)
Sweet Chilli Nuts by Cambrook (45g)
New English Tea Afternoon Tea
Edinburgh Tea and Coffee Company Goldbag (56g)

As a family of five at various ages there was something for everyone in this hamper.  The younger kids loved the mini mint drizzle bar which was mint flavoured but not overpowering, and the orange thins which were like beautifully tasty thin and delicate ginger biscuits with an orange hint.  My oldest daughter loved the sweet chilli nuts which had a kick from the chilli yet were sweet at the same time, and the gorgeously rich chocolate truffles.  My husband’s favourite were the mince pies which were like thick shortbread pastry and rich fruity filling.  I personally loved the Bombay Mix which was a twist on normal Bombay Mix.  It was beautifully spiced but softer to eat.  There honestly wasn’t anything in the hamper that we didn’t like, even the tea and coffee were lovely.

Hampers.com has 30 Christmas hampers / gift baskets on their website, of which the Festive Favourites Hamper is one, starting from £30 upwards.  So if you wanted a Christmas hamper, but this one didn’t meet your requirements there are plenty of Christmas themed hampers to choose from for all budgets.

All hampers come with a free gift message that will be printed on a plain gift card and attached on the top of the box in a paper document pouch, so it can’t be read by anyone except the recipient yet is the first thing that will be seen by the recipient.

Orders over £50 are free standard delivery or £5 if under £50 for standard delivery which will be delivered the next working day.  You can choose a specific delivery date using a different delivery choice.

Food / drink presents are my go-to gifts when I’m not sure what to get someone.  Most people I have sent hampers to in the past have loved them.  Not just the hamper itself but the whole experience of the surprise of receiving them, the anticipation of opening it and finally loving the items inside.  They’re great for any occasion, not just Christmas.  On the hampers.com website you can search by the occasion, who is it for, what do they like or any combination of the three to find the perfect hamper for your needs.  A couple of months ago I bought my parents a hamper for their anniversary from a well known high street retailer online which was a lot more expensive than this hamper and didn’t have half as many items inside.  I will definitely be using hampers.com as my go to hamper / gift basket supplier from now on.  For the quantity of the items which were contained in the hamper, the quality of the products and the fact I could reuse the canvas sack it was packaged in, I thought the hamper was good value for money at £50 and that this would make a lovely Christmas gift for anyone.
