Westlab Bath Salts Review

Reviewed by Amanda Hayes

I have used the brilliant bath salts from Westlab previously as they came highly recommended when I had a bad back, so I was very pleased to be able to try out two very different varieties from their range, Cleanse & Sleep.

Both products came in 1kg resealable plastic bags, so I was happy to open a different bag each night in the knowledge that I could seal them back up until the next use. They are so simple to use, 2-3 handfuls, I used a small cup, added to the bath water and they dissolve really quickly. I started with the Sleep salts, hoping to be relaxed after a stressful week at work, and I wasn’t disappointed. Whilst not as fragrant as the Cleanse salts the magnesium relaxes mind & body, the essential oils calm and sooth whilst the valerian helps promote peaceful sleep. A couple of cupful’s poured under the running tap water and I was soon laying in a relaxed state feeling the warm water over my body, I really didn’t want to get out. All my worries drifted away. When I finally dragged myself out and into bed I was asleep practically as my head hit the pillow and even better I stayed asleep, not my normal waking up worrying in the small hours.

The following evening I tried the Cleanse salts, these were very different with a fantastic aroma that filled the whole room. The combination of Himalayan salt, the purest salt on earth, essential oils and seaweed extract leave your body feeling naturally cleansed and your mind awake and refreshed. The mixture of citrus oils, grapefruit, lemon & orange are so uplifting I could happily use these every day. The smell is almost overpowering when you open the bag, but don’t worry, the oils dilute into the bathwater to give a heady spa like quality to your bathroom without the hefty price tag.

Westlab have lots of other bath salts in their product range and two particularly caught my eye, Mindful and Pink Gin, both sound like excellent ideas for gifts. Mindful restores calm and serenity amidst modern life and contains CBD (Cannabidiol), promoting tranquillity. The Pink Gin sound both fun and refreshing, stating that they are the perfect pick-me-up bath to revive and refresh containing cleansing Epsom and Himalayan Salts, with juniper berry, pomegranate and lime I am sure they would be another one with a fantastic aroma. Another product that really caught my eye was the kids Dead Sea bath salts, my son suffers with eczema and these had fantastic reviews by recent users, I will definitely be purchasing some for my son to try, especially with a price tag of only £2.99.

The large 1kg bags such as Cleanse & Sleep are a moderate £7.99 and will last for many baths, I think they are great value whether as a treat for yourself or a loved one. The salts are 100% Vegan, 100% Natural and 100% Cruelty-free, a pure and natural way to treat yourself.
