I was more than happy to try out this baby oil as I already use the Weleda nappy cream and love their products. The baby oil is 100% natural and so you don’t have any concerns about using it on your baby’s sensitive skin.
My son suffers from eczema and therefore I prefer to use natural products when I can, and the Weleda range would be my product of choice. It may be a little more expensive but it’s worth it for peace of mind.
It can be used in three different ways, rubbed directly on the skin as a massage oil, added to the bath or used with cotton wool as a skin cleanser. I have been adding a few drops to my son’s bath every night and it has make a big difference to the softness of his skin and has not left any visible dry patches.
Another good thing about this oil is that the Calendula, included as one of the ingredients, creates a yellow tinge to the oil so that you can see how much you are using. You really do only need a few drops though. I have tried it in my bath too and while my skin will never get back to baby softness it has certainly made a difference.
As a massage oil it works well, a few drops on the palm of your hand creates a nice silky product, is not sticky, and it rubs in very easily, and doesn’t just sit on the top of the skin.
As a cleanser I could see that it would be very gentle, especially suitable if your baby has nappy rash.
All in all a great product that I thoroughly recommend.
