I was recently asked to review some Italian sauces from Tesco so I chose the garlic and mushroom and the butternut squash risotto sauces which were £1.40 each. I also got a creamy tomato pasta bake sauce which was £1.30.
These sauces made preparing a risotto and pasta bake for dinner simple! The dishes needed very little prep or cooking which made it a very easy dinner option for busy working family. The risotto sauces just need mixed with rice and water, stirred and put in the oven with no fuss. The pasta bake just as easy.
I added chicken with the risotto and sausage with the pasta to make the dishes a little more substantial. The butternut squash had a real sweet kick to its flavour, the garlic and mushroom was creamy and not to overpowering. My husband who is not a fan of mushroom also really enjoyed it. The tomato pasta bake was thick and creamy and coated the pasta really well.
All three sauces were delicious with just the right consistency and depth of flavour and are very reasonably priced. I will definitely buy these again and look forward to tasting the variety of flavours available. I would recommend to family and friends, and think these would make an excellent choice for a big pot dish for large gatherings like BBQ’s or parties.
I was extremely impressed with the sauces and think they make relatively quick, very easy and inexpensive diners for the whole family.
