Day 2 Ultimate festival, Rock/Indie we arrived just as Stereoironics were starting to play, we set up are chairs and picnic blanket ready to enjoy the sun and listen to them play. They were fantastic and lots of people up and jumping around to their songs including children and teenagers, Next up was Hot Red Chili Peppers, this brought me back to my younger days, and found myself singing along and having a dance with my daughter. They played lots of old classics and got the crowd up and dancing and the grass area in front of the stage soon filled up. The last act we saw was the Foo Fakers I loved the Foo Fighters growing up and this tribute act did not disappoint with their performance. Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay all day but would have loved to stay into the evening, We heard from friends that it was a great night.
We were having so much fun and didn’t want to leave but had other plans for the evening. Today is the last day and we are there from start to finish. We are spending it with friends today so looking forward to it. I would definitely rate this festival as a friendly family festival and be attending again next year as well as looking out for other similar ones. My love for festivals has sparked again and particularly because my daughter can enjoy them with me she loves dancing and having space to do this and this is something we can enjoy together, she has Autism so sometimes struggles but here she didn’t, so this is a big plus for me, that she felt safe and didn’t want to leave to go home, she even managed to be in with the crowds during Flash on Friday night and not panic because it was too busy and she felt uncomfortable. So massive thanks to Ultimate Festivals for making our first festival together such an enjoyable experience.
The grounds of Upton Country park is a great location with plenty of space to park in a separate field and the area where the entertainment has plenty of room, the stalls being around the outside of the field makes it spacious in the middle and going right back up to the house, you feel comfortable and don’t feel like you are sat on top of the person next to you.
It had a great atmosphere yesterday and a real family vibe, lots of families with young children enjoying it, as well as lots of groups of friends and older groups of children. Again the security was great and well seen, so it felt safe and I was comfortable letting my daughter and her friend who was younger go down near the stage to dance.
