The board arrived extremely well packaged and very swiftly with no damage.
It is a lovely heavyweight and approximately 1.5 cm deep and 30 cm in diameter
This is a really good size for chopping and serving – not too small!
About a third of it is beautiful ingrained acacia wood and the other two thirds cream and grey marble.
Also inlaid with shiny brass to separate the three sections.

The marble feels very cold to the touch and will be perfect for chilled desserts and cheeses.
This will be especially important during the summer time, and of course this board can be used outdoors for serving just as well as indoors.
The acacia section is pleasantly room temperature and will be more appropriate for room temperature cakes
I can imagine fresh cream cakes on the marble sections, or cream tea with the scones on the wood and jam and cream on the marble.

This can be used as a cheeseboard as well – with the biscuits going on the acacia wood and the cheeses going on the two marble sections.
Or it could be used purely for desserts.
Or indeed chilled starters like pate on the marble with hot toast on the acacia. Or chilled meats or appetisers like canapés olives or chopped vegetables and dips.
It really is very versatile.
It can also be used as a chopping board, however it looks so beautiful that I wouldn’t want to risk scratching the lovely acacia wood.
It is so attractive that it is a nice table centrepiece just on its own.
– no need to store it away, just have it on display. Elegant, classy And contemporary. The goldish, shiny, brass accents will complement the gold decorations on my Christmas table beautifully.
It is wipe clean only and understandably not suitable for a microwave.
It has padded non slip feet on the bottom so that it won’t damage any surfaces underneath it and will stay in place when folk are cutting cheese and dessert or pâté et cetera.
It would make a great Christmas gift for a foodie, a cheese lover, or dessert lover, or savoury lover
It could even be given as a Christmas gift with cheeses or desserts or appetisers to go with it.
In these days where particularly men can be hard to buy for it’s nice to see a thing of beauty which is also practical, and which also appeals to a man’s stomach – after all, what is the way to a man’s heart?!
Having said that I think that many women would also love to receive it, or it would be a great gift for a foodie couple or someone moving home or as a house warming gift.
It is part of a good range of products in the elements serveware range. All of which can be found on the Typhoon website here:
