I have always been one to touch my face and therefore tend to get spots around my mouth and chin. Even as in a woman in my 30s I still get blemishes that leave red marks after the spots heal, these stick around long term, so I have been looking for a solution that works. I was lucky enough to be selected to review the Nuture Facial Treatment Serum for blemish scars.
My first impression of is that the packaging has a pharmaceutical aesthetic. If I had seen it in a shop, I may not have picked it out, but looking at the ingredients and how it claims to help with a brighter complexion, reduce the appearance of dark spots and reduce the appearance of oily skin I am very interested. Whilst the information on the packaging was helpful, the parts that would really encourage me to purchase are a bit on the small side and burrowed in text. That is where the negatives end though. The instructions on the bottle were concise and useful, as sometimes you don’t know the order in which to use skincare products or how much. The packaging states that the serum should be used 2-3 drops morning and night to cleansed skin. A little goes a long way with this serum, after a week of following this routine I have barely used anything.
What I particularly like is that the serum is not heavily fragranced, which for me would usually mean it would make my skin flare up due to sensitivity. This was confirmed upon putting the serum on my face as it went on nicely, with a watery texture that didn’t leave a tacky or greasy feel on the skin.
After a week’s use I can only comment on a slight improvement with the dark spots. However, I think that the serum should be applied consistently for a longer period of time, as with any serum, to gain its full benefits. One thing I did notice is that my t-zone is a lot less oily and I feel my skin looks fresh and bright, which might have contributed to why I’ve not had any more breakouts. The serum also sinks into the skin and keeps it hydrated, it has gotten rid of a small patch of flaky skin I had on my jawline, which came as a nice surprise.
This makes a nice gift for the conscious shopper as it is both vegan friendly and made in the UK. More than that, the serum is a good introduction as many of these ingredients I have seen in more expensive alternatives. The Nuture facial treatment serum is formulated with centella extract, niacinamide, glycolic acid and bakuchiol and more all of which are known for the claims that the company makes about its product. To balance out the stronger ingredients there are some that have calming and soothing properties, which I really appreciate as it has been gentle on my skin and not caused some of the hot and redness I have experienced with some serums.
Overall, I would recommend trying this product. I have already gained some benefits after a short period of use and hopefully with consistent future use I will rid myself of hyperpigmentation. It is also very affordable.
