Manchester’s reputation as a thriving cosmopolitan city looks set to improve even more in 2019, with a huge number of events, activities and things to do. From visiting the city’s unique museums to looking at property opportunities, Manchester is called the UK’s second city for a reason.

Football Fans

If you’re a football fan, Manchester has quite the reputation, and you have plenty to do in the city. The National Football Museum is perfect for looking at the history of the game and seeing some impressive memorabilia, with free entry too! If you’re a red or a blue, you could also visit Old Trafford for a stadium tour or attend a Manchester City Football Club Stadium and Club Tour. If you can, make sure to catch a match too!

Enjoy International Art

The world’s first festival of original, new work and special events is taking place in Manchester from the 4th to the 21st of July and is definitely one to put in your diary. Manchester International Festival was launched in 2007 and since then incredible works by world famous artists, designers and musicians have premiered there. Led by artists and held at Albert Square, this unique festival is a perfect taste of Manchester’s cultural offer. This year, Yoko Ono will be creating a new work – Bells for Peace – which will feature thousands of voices and bells welcoming people to Manchester in the Cathedral Gardens. Other performances include Janelle Monae, Dystopia987 and Tree, this artist-led festival should be a fantastic experience.

Study with the Best

Manchester has an amazing reputation for its higher education opportunities, and it is home to 4 world class universities. If 2019 is the year you decide to go to university, then Manchester has some excellent opportunities. Manchester is currently home to around 99,000 students, and the total student population for the city region is almost 400,000. With affordable living costs, buzzing nightlife and a thriving independent scene, Manchester continues to welcome students from all over the world.

Look at Real Estate

Though property investment may not be something that automatically springs to mind, a huge part of Manchester’s new-found success is down to its impressive real estate opportunities. With major regeneration projects, one of the UK’s largest student populations and a huge demand for rental property, Manchester is still an affordable city to invest in. With major new developments on the horizon from property investment specialists like RW Invest, if you are thinking of investing in property in 2019, Manchester is the perfect city for you. Manchester has some of the fastest rising property prices in the country and rising rental yields mean there are plenty of lucrative opportunities.

Experience Parklike

One of Manchester’s most popular events, Parklife 2019 is not to be missed. We are still waiting on the line-up, which will be released closer to the event, and always includes some of the UK’s hottest acts. The festival happens on the 8th-9th June 2019. In beautiful Heaton Park, last year 80,000 people attended the Manchester festival. From glitter beards to crowd surfing to street food, the UK’s biggest metropolitan festival is perfect for some summer music.
