Casdon Build-A-Bear Workshop Stuffing Station Age 3+ Review

My two little ones were overjoyed when we got sent the CASDON Build-A-Bear Workshop Stuffing Station to review together. The parcel arrived suitably well packaged, with no excess plastic wrapping in sight. Inside the set contains the stuffing station itself, two different teddies (one mid brown and one light brown/beige) ready to stuff, two outfits (top and shorts, and dress and sunglasses) and two bags of stuffing. We loved that the special little details such as the red hearts, and birth certificates were included, so your child’s new friend can be made extra special.
The kids were super excited to get it set up, so luckily it didn’t take too long to remove out of the box or put together. The batteries were not included (3 AAA) so our advice would be to make sure you have those handy to avoid delays as the machine will not work without them. The machine was a decent size but actually not overly big which is great for storage. Clear instructions are included and once we had set it up once it was easy to keep repeating to refill the stuffing and take turns between the children to stuff their teddies.
A little drawer on the machine keeps the hearts safe whilst you make up the bears. A light goes one when the stuffing machine is in use which was a cute addition, and neither of my children (3 and 5) had difficulty using it (under our supervision) to push the stuffing inside. Adult help was needed with my little ones to push the stuffing evenly into the various areas of the teddies (arms/legs/head) but older ones may be able to do this independently. There is the perfect amount of stuffing needed.
I was impressed at the zip used to close up the teddies as the instructions show how an adult could reopen the fastening if needed, however it wouldn’t be easily possible for a child to as the pull part of the zipper is not present. The bears are a lot smaller than those made at build a bear (measuring approx. 25cm in length) however provide a good size toy and means you are not there forever manually pushing the stuffing in. My son also loved how they are like mini versions of one of the build a bears he has from a previous trip to the build a bear shop.
Once we were done, we were left with the stuffing station which remained like new. Immediately we all thought how great it would be to be able to reuse this in the future (as otherwise it did feel like quite a waste) and a quick search on the CASDON website showed that you can indeed purchase sets of a new teddy, its stuffing and accessories to enable this. We were a little disappointed that the range was so small, with only two options from what we could see (one darker teddy with new outfit and one the same mid brown teddy as already included but with a different outfit). It would have been great to see a much larger range of teddies and other options given the original build a bear have so many to choose from.
We would really recommend the stuffing station set as it provided an activity with lots of entertainment which created similar magic as going to a build a bear shop and also left the two finished products to keep. We actually thought the set was pretty good value since it created two teddies complete with outfits, and the stuffing station itself can be reused. There is also free standard delivery on all orders over £25 (or free next-day delivery on orders over £40) on the brand’s website so you don’t need to factor in extra costs when ordering. A great gift idea for your own or other children!
