Me and my daughter, who is nearly eight, went to the New Victoria Theatre in Woking to see The Little Mix Experience, which is a tribute band of the famous girl group Little Mix.
Little Mix became famous on the X-factor and seem to be very popular with girls my daughters age. The theatre was brimming with excited children, lots who had purchased glow sticks that were available to buy just before you go in along with other merchandise like wrist bands and teddies.
The girls who star in this group were full of energy right from the start and really give it their all. Some of the songs I was less familiar with but there were plenty of well-known top hits, the best one for me being Black Magic. Their dancing and singing made it seem like we were seeing the real Little Mix, they actually sounded like them as well. There was lots of interaction with the audience which I loved, where at one point they got the audience to finish of the sentence to a song they sang and another time they chose two audience members to have a go at a hair whip. There’s lots of times you’re encouraged to sing along so I’d recommend learning a few of their songs, as I’d wish I had. Everyone was encouraged to sing along a boogie and enjoy themselves and this made for a great introduction to the concert type atmosphere. My daughters highlight was when the band members came out to the audience and gave all the kids high fives.
This is a must see show for any Little Mix fans, they won’t be disappointed.
As always, the New Victoria Theatre is a joy to visit with lovely friendly staff and parking a very short walk away. The only downside side was the interval ice creams were a bit steep at £4.50 a tub and I really felt for family’s with more than one child.
