I was lucky enough to be chosen to review The Illegal Eagles at the Grove Theatre in Dunstable on Saturday. We arrived at the theatre and parked the car in the spacious free car park. It took us 2 minutes to walk over to the theatre entrance which was really busy with lots of people all looking forward to the show. Although busy you never have to wait long to pick up tickets from the very pleasant staff at reception. We then made our way to the auditorium and we’re shown to our seats by another lovely member of staff.
Our seat as usual gave as a brilliant view of the stage which had such a number of instruments all waiting to be played. When the group came on stage the crowd applauded and cheered very loudly. The band is made up of 5 members. They all played various instruments, which included drums, keyboard and various changes of guitars, they were amazing. The vocals also were second to none, they are all so talented. They played well known hits such as ‘Lyin Eyes’, ‘Life in the Fast Lane’, ‘Desperado’ and many more. The first half of the show just flew by, the audience just loved them.
We went to bar for refreshments and after a very short wait were served by a lovely young lady with our drinks.
The second half of the show started to rapturous applause. The band carried on playing brilliant tunes and chatting to the audience about the history of the band. They have been together for 20 years and it showed with their professionalism to playing instruments and vocals. They finished part 2 of the show, but with the audience calling for more, reappeared to sing everybody’s favourite ‘Hotel California’ the whole theatre was on their feet dancing and singing. It was a brilliant end to a fantastic show.
After the show the band made their way to the foyer where there were lots of autographs and photo’s being taken, which is very nice to see.
I would rate this show top marks, a fabulous evening’s entertainment.
