If you are looking for a fun game that gets everyone involved, the Cup Challenge Game is definitely one to buy and with Christmas just around the corner, this makes a perfect gift for anyone, especially when it comes to the traditions of playing games at Christmas.
It’s a really simple idea, but one that can create plenty of laughs, competition and a little bit of frustration when you just can’t get the answer right!
First Impressions
I really like how simple this game is to understand. There’s no complicated setup or lots of rules to try and get your head around before you can start playing. It’s the sort of game that you can get out, explain and have everyone joining in within minutes.
What’s Included
The set includes a base unit, 10 reusable cups in five different colours, five reusable straws, a sheet of drink labels and an instruction sheet.
I like that everything you need is included, and the reusable cups mean you can keep coming back to the game rather than it being something you only use once. From a hygiene perspective, I wash the straws after playing.
Design and Style
The cups and base are colourful and have a fun, game-like appearance with the cups being such bold colours. The design is also nice and simple, which works really well because the attention is on the challenge itself.
Quality and Durability
The cups are very easy to use and are lightweight, which is important when you’re trying to move them around quickly. As with most competitive games, be prepared for things get a little lively LOL, but the reusable concept makes this a practical game for repeated use.
Easy Setup and Imaginative Play
I love a game that has more than one concept to it ad this offers 2 different ways to play.
1. Colour-matching challenge which gets players to think quickly and to pay close attention.
2. Guessing challenge using drinks and straws, which adds a completely different element.
Perfect Size for Little Hands
The cups are a good size for children to pick up, move and arrange. They’re also easy to handle when trying to complete the colour-matching challenge.
Encourages Social Skills
Playing together makes it even more fun, as children can take turns, have a bit of friendly competition and, of course, learn that you can’t always be the winner! It’s also a great way to get everyone chatting, laughing and joining in, especially when playing as a family. All this works extremely well for cognitive development.
Developmental Benefits
Although this is all about having fun, there’s also plenty of learning going on without children even realising it! The matching challenge gets them thinking, looking carefully, remembering colours and using their hand-eye coordination, while the guessing game adds a fun sensory element too.
I love games like this because children can be having a great time, laughing and playing, while at the same time learning lots without it feeling like learning at all!
