I’ve got to admit; I’m now at that glorious stage of life where the prospect of a new robe feels genuinely exciting, so I was delighted to be given the chance to review the Temu Hooded Coral Fleece Robe. And to be fair, I didn’t have to wait long to give it a whirl!

The robe arrived in a shrink-wrapped plastic outer-bag and upon opening it felt lovely and soft. It was beige (or off-white) in colour and had an almost shell-like pattern, which I felt was understated, but elegant.

I’m a big fan of robes with hoods (even if I rarely wear them up), so that was an instant win. It also has generously sized pockets, which I felt was ideal for popping my phone in while I’m pottering around the house.

What I really loved about his robe is that it had elasticated cuffs, which is a first for me. Usually I find the sleeves a bit of a nuisance, especially when doing the washing up, as they tend to slip down and get soggy. These cuffs stayed put and added a lovely snug feel, which I find especially welcome at this time of year when draughty sleeves are no fun!

Unlike the majority of robes out there, this one buttons up the front, which I really liked, as again, I generally get annoyed when they fasten by a belt tied around the middle, as I find they often fall open repeatedly and you end up having to keep doing them up again, unless you’re cosied up on the sofa. I know some robes designed at the more mature clientele sometimes button up at the front but am pleased to report this one is definitely aimed at a younger audience! I note that there is no spare button included, so if you lose one, it can’t be so easily replaced.

Annoyingly, the robe doesn’t have a loop to hang it on the hanger on the back of my door, which I personally feel that it would benefit from, particularly if there’s more than one hanging there and you can’t use the hood to hang it instead.

The robe is described as ‘mid-length’, which sits around mid-thigh and is perfect for keeping you warm without feeling bulky. It’s listed as ‘Asian one-size’. I’m a UK size 12/14, and while the product image suggested an oversized fit, I found it to fit like a regular robe, rather than being over-sized. I’m not convinced it would fit plus sizes, so it’s worth bearing that in mind if you’re buying it as a gift.

Made from 100% polyester, the material is soft, snuggly, and relatively thick. At the time of review, I hadn’t washed it yet, so I can’t comment on how well it holds up in the wash. There are no care instructions on the label, but I’d assume a low-temperature wash would be safest and I’m unsure whether it’s suitable for tumble drying.

The robe has an RRP of £53.49 but is on sale at Temu for £17.99. Personally, I wouldn’t pay full price, but at the sale price, it’s a lovely robe and I’d be genuinely pleased to receive it as a gift. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for a Christmas gift for a loved one this year, in fact, it would be perfect as a gift for any occasion. It also benefits from free delivery, which is always a bonus too.
