Temu Father’s Day Bundle Review

I have received 3 different items from Temu to review for Father’s Day, an ace of spades bottle opener (RRP £6.99 – currently selling for £0.59), a socket wrench set (RRP £12.72 – currently selling for £4.97) and a fishing hook/lure set (RRP £28.98 – currently selling for £5.93).

First up the bottle opener, it is a nice solid mat black design, with white details for the A and spade, the design is on the front and back which is nice. The card is made from metal and is solid, a good thing when you want to open a bottle and for it to hold its own and do the job as intended. The middle ace of spades is a cut out, this is the part that opens the bottle as you insert it and flick it up and off. This does work well. The mat black finish does show greasy finger prints the second you touch it so that is something to be aware of, the finish on the paint is also a little bumpy and not perfectly smooth. The card itself is the size of a credit card and fits into a wallet in the card slots, perfect for a Dad on the go and to always have a bottle opener handy.

Next up is the fishing set – I am going to admit here that I have never been fishing so I do not know what I am looking at. However I can say that it comes in a great handy and sturdy box, each different item has its own lidded compartment that clips into place holding everything in and in the correct location. Some of the sections are very small so if you have larger fingers or your recipient does, bare this in mind as it could be very fiddly. The black box has a catch to hold the whole thing together and when opened each section has its own catch to hold the lid in place so that the contents don’t spill. There is a small hook on there and a carry strap that could be useful or taken off if you would prefer. There are colourful beads in the set, hooks, swivels and connectors. I cannot vouch for the quality of these items but they are plentiful and feel sturdy, for the price you seem to get a lot for your money.

Lastly is the 46 piece socket wrench set, this comes in a box and as with all socket sets that I have ever opened, the second you open the lid the sockets and tools all fall out and you spend the next 10 minutes meticulously putting them in their correctly numbered slots knowing full well that the same will happen next time too. The reason that the sockets all fall out is that the box is not made to keep them secure, they do not grip and are very loose so every time you open the box the same thing will happen which is frustrating. The box is quite flimsy and thin, I also think that after time the latch will break and snap off as it does not feel or look durable.

The tools themselves are decent quality, they are made well and fit together as they should, time will tell how durable they are but on first look and feel they are decent for the price. The handles are a little rough and not as ergonomic as other more expensive sets and they aren’t finished to the same standards.
