Reviewed by Brian Grehan

This is a follow up volume by Irish author and Agatha Christie expert John Curran and is a must for any fan of the brilliant detective writer. In “Agatha Christie’s Secret Notebooks” John Curran opened the door for fans, in this volume he leads the reader through 60 years of her career and reveals a number of never before published excerpts and stories from her archives.

Starting in the 1920’s CurranĀ reveals how Christie’s publisher convinced her to change the ending of her first book, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, a move which changed her career as a detective writer and changed the whole concept of the detective novel.

Curran also reveals how Christie prepared to kill off Hercule Poirot and also how she experimented with stories influenced by more modern thrillers. He follows the authors career through the decades right up to her last notebook and her ideas for her final unwritten book.
