The four year old in our family helped me to review this toy. She was super excited when she saw the package. It looked like a pink and blue chunk of ice. There was a small picture of the doll on the outside so it wasn’t a complete surprise. I helped her to remove the outside wrapping and together we figured out how to open up the plastic case then without any help from me she explored what was inside. It was so lovely to watch the smile on her little face as she found all the goodies. First she found the doll that was wrapped in tissue paper. It is so cute with big blue eyes and a painted on white outfit. The arms and legs move and the face and body are squishy. The doll is 13cm tall. The next piece of tissue paper revealed the baby’s bottle which was immediately placed in the baby’s mouth opening. It was a good fit and also a soft white fabric hat for the baby. I had to help put this on but only the first time. She soon got the hang of how to put it on by herself.

There was still more to discover. When the case opened up it was like a little wardrobe. There were three compartments inside that looked like drawers. They had cardboard pull down flaps. In here she found more accessories for the cry baby, a ski mask, a pair of snow boots, a scarf and a dummy and the ever popular sheet of stickers. We had great fun together getting the cry baby ready to go out to play in the snow and then taking her outdoor things off and putting them back in the wardrobe.
The only thing that disappointed us was that we couldn’t get her to cry. We followed the instructions carefully, filled her bottle up, gave her the bottle which was all quite easy but we squeezed and squeezed her tummy and no tears came. We gave her another bottle, squeezed again but still no tears. There was definitely water inside. We could hear it swishing about but no tears.
She’s certainly not a “crybaby” but still very cute and has a lot of play value. I really like the way everything packs up into the plastic wardrobe keeping all the accessories safe and so easy to take on car journeys or outings.
There are twelve different characters to collect in this “keep me warm” range plus two rare characters. Each one comes with eight winter accessories to keep them warm.
The Cry Babies even have their own cartoon on YouTube where you can find out more about their world and meet all the characters.
Priced at £10.99 each these are a perfect price for gifting and would make an ideal Christmas gift.
Due to the small parts the toy is not suitable for children under three.
