Celebrity Video Message From Thrillz Review

I recently had the opportunity to review Thrillz – a company that sets up and sends personalised, celebrity video messages straight to your inbox. I was intrigued. I thought I may be in with a chance to wow my young daughters or perhaps butter up my better half with a beltin’ birthday bulletin. I was more than happy with the results – a fantastic, unique video message from a favourite TV Star that can be treasured for ever!

My decision as to who the celebrity message was to be for, was made after a scroll though the range of talent available on the Thrillz website. There’s quite the selection of stars: Footballers, Musicians and Actors, as well as familiar faces from Reality TV, Impersonators and Comedians. I do think a video message from a well-known face is something that would impress the kids but there was very little to suit my 4 and 6 year olds’ taste; definitely an area for the company to develop. Nevertheless, as soon as I swiped onto the big, smiley face of Actor Tony Way (who you may have spotted recently as ‘Lenny’ in the new series of ‘After Life’), I knew I’d found my clickbait. With my husband a big fan of this black comedy from Ricky Gervais, and his birthday coming up, a personalised message from one of his favourite characters was now on course to be the surprise of his big day.

The personalised videos from Thrillz are 2022’s equivalent of buying a signed poster… but better! This is your chance to give someone the gift of seeing and hearing their favourite celebrity talking directly to them. It’s a little bit of magic and guaranteed to raise a smile.

At forty-two years old, I must admit that there were quite a few faces available to book on Thrillz, who I just didn’t recognise. For me, there weren’t many celebrities I’d have gone for but of course, it’s something very personal. And just one person, is all you need! All I’ll say is it’s well worth a look.

The price of a video message also varies, depending on the star in question. It’s easy enough to see the cost; on the homepage just click on an individual and a price pops up, or if you’re scrolling through a category, the price will automatically appear next to faces. To give you a few examples, a message from 90s Popstar Chesney Hawkes will currently set you back £75, Kerry Katona costs £33, Mr Motivator £50 and Footballer Matt Le Tissier £30. Like I say, it’s worth a gander. A favourite of you or a friend might just jump out at you.

It was really easy, just a matter of a few clicks, to sign-up to Thrillz and organise my husband’s celebrity message. After a simple search of the site, landing on and selecting Tony Way, I just had to enter my name, my email, select an occasion and submit instructions as to what I’d like Tony to say in the recording. You do only have 300 characters in which to get your request across and this is pretty tight; choose your words carefully. I completely understand why there’s a limit but I also think Thrillz could be a tad more generous. After a little careful editing, I managed to fit most of what I wanted Tony to refer to, into the little box on my screen. And the resulting video was superb…

A big thank you to Tony for the bespoke message; he included everything I mentioned; constantly talking directly to ‘P***’ (editor’s note – name removed), referring to our daughters ‘F***** and F*****’ (editor’s note – names removed) and referencing why we love ‘After Life’ and our favourite scenes. But Tony didn’t stop there; he went into character, offering P*** (editor’s note – name removed) some birthday advice from the show’s loveable ‘Lenny’. The video was longer than I thought it would be, unique to P*** (editor’s note – name removed) and an unexpected but very well-received birthday treat.

Thrillz offers video messages for every occasion: for birthdays, good luck, anniversaries – or my favourite – ‘a pick-me-up’; what a wonderful way to help cheer someone up. As well as providing video messages, some celebrities also offer private one-to-one video calls, to make an appearance at a virtual business or charity event or promote small businesses with a brand endorsement.

Thrillz certainly offers an easy, convenient and seemingly reliable means of getting a personalised video message from a celebrity. The stars have seven days to record your video, with a notification popping up in your inbox when it’s ready. Mine came within a matters of days and I was so excited when it landed in my email account ; I couldn’t wait to get into it!

A Thrillz video is also for life, so once you have the link, you can view it, download it and share it from your dashboard on the site, spreading the joy and sharing the unique gift with your family and friends. If you’re looking to give a treat with a difference, this we’ll could be it.
