Shape of You is THE BEST tribute to Ed Sheeran you will see! Tonight we went back to The Grove Theatre in Dunstable to see Daniel East in the tribute show Shape of You. It looked to be a sell out crowd in Dunstable tonight. It was from the very young to the very old who braved the cold wet weather to attend tonight’s show. There is plenty of parking around the theatre but on a night like tonight you need to arrive early to be close.
We got to our seats with ease and eagerly awaited the show. We were not disappointed from the opening number. We have had the privilege of seeing Ed Sheeran himself and I can honestly hand on heart say that this show gives him a run for his money. Daniel is Ed, that’s a fact. His vocals are amazing. It has to be one of the best live music shows we have seen so far this year.
The show is full of everyone’s favourites, Photograph, Perfect, Castle on the Hill … I could go on. Many of us were on our feet right from the first number. He has a presence on the stage, and it’s hard not to clap tap your toes and sing along, which Daniel/Ed actively encourages.
There is a video stream playing throughout, with lighting to compliment what is going on on the stage. The musicians supporting are fabulous to, playing guitar, keyboards and drums. The show as a whole is just amazing, and I couldn’t see anyone that looked like they were not having the best time. Dunstable there is a variety of amazing artists playing throughout the year, treat yourself to a great night out, many come back to the area time and time again.
This is the second time we have seen Shape of You, and I actually think tonight was special. When ‘Ed’ sang the Joker and the Queen, it was particularly special. Live music is special and is so uplifting. It is a joy to watch artists who look not only like they are enjoying themselves, but love what they do. Shape of You is fantastic, the vocals are spot on, and he uses the trademark loop pedal machine, exceptionally well.
The interval came far too quickly, and the second half simply flew by, nearly everyone was on their feet when he declared the last song. The crowd erupted and demanded more, quite rightly so! Almost everyone was on their feet for those last few songs. I can’t think of a better way to spend a cold wet windy Thursday. Everyone should treat themselves to this show, it’s amazing. Huge well done to everyone involved. A quality night of very good entertainment. It felt over all too soon. We most certainly will see you all again, fantastic night thank you. The spring tour is on the road until the end of April, get yourselves a ticket.
